High Moon Tales. Tales of the Wicked West.
(Chase)
?
?Chase looked up to the newcomers that didn¡¯t look all that new, the woman he remembered from the town back a ways. The man not so much but he had a different smell about him, that was something even to Chase¡¯s sensitive nose from the smell of it the two were¡together. His eyes narrowed as the man said they might be expecting each other. He didn¡¯t like that but he wondered if that was what the woman back there was taking about. ¡®Five¡she gave each one of them a name a point of familiarity almost like chess pieces. ¡°Chase is my name¡why might we be¡expecting each other?¡± he asked just wondering as he nodded to acknowledge the both of them.

(Etienne Desante)

Etienne was about to head to the bar, when the woman smiled at her. ¡°Hey Suga. It would appear that table I was going to put you at is all full. Sorry about that. Do you mind eating at the bar?¡±
?
Etienne smiled. ¡°I will do you want better. How about I take my food to my room. Is that okay?¡± The waitress frowned.
?
¡°No that will never do.¡± She shook he head. And hooked her arms with Etienne, ¡°Come with me. I have a special table for you.¡± She said leading her to a table near the window. Near the men who had been watching her. It was a small table meant for two.

[Sicilien]
?
Sicillien was midbite when he noticed a couple of space invaders approaching them. Two men was already too many at his table, an addition of a third one wasn't any more welcome than the second. Once the man spoke, however, he moved to the side to set down his effects, and then another shape materialized behind him...a woman. Though the waitress said he should've expected someone of the female persuasion, he wondered if he was yet taken for a fool thrice more since she was with a companion. They seemed to have some familiarity with each other though. He noticed them walking close together, so they must be companions of a sort. He took note that Chase was eyeing them with just as much of a suspicion, though he did not hesitate to introduce himself. May as well follow suit.
?
"I' m Sicillien, and I definitely was not expecting any of you.. I seem to be attracting all sorts of riff-raff tonight. No offense, Chase," he said, tilting his head slightly at his table companion' s side. He looked back at the man and woman before him, leaning back as he picked off a tiny string of sinew from between his teeth with his pinky nail, making a small "tch!" sound as he sighed in relief. "To what or whom do we owe the pleasure of our company tonight, lady and gent?"
?
?
(New Callie Carson)
Callie downed her whiskey shot and nodded to Sicilien. "I'm Callie Carson. This is Flynn.? We're looking for Miller's Crossing. We've had a bit of trouble trying to get there, however." She considered the fact they had all been drawn here and were apparently, somehow, supposed to meet up, so she continued."Seems as we try to travel to Miller's Crossing, we find ourselves back here in Bendo," said Callie. "Then there's this storm. It came out of nowhere and it resembles storms I've seen before -- storms that aren't normal, they aren't created by nature."She looked at Chase and Sicilian to gauge their reactions. Hopefully, if they knew something, they'd speak up...
?
?
(New - Flynn)
"Riff-raff? " Flynn repeated lazily, glancing at Callie and then looking back at Sicillien. "I know we may not have been expected, but that don't make us riff-raff. Especially not in these parts. The competition for what qualifies as riff-raff in this benighted desolation is pretty fierce, don't you think?"
?
The pookah leaned forward a bit in his chair and lowered his voice. "We were sent out by the Company..." he emphasized the word just slightly "...to look into some strange goin's on one of the Company' s agents reported happenin' around Miller's Crossing. And now he's dead, and someone or somethin' is workin' _real_ hard to keep us from ever gettin' to Miller's Crossing."
?
With that, Flynn leaned back in his chair once again. "We were told that there'd be some other folks that the Company wanted us to meet up with who'd also be lookin' into things." He paused to give a long look to both Sicillien and Chase. "You' re the only two people we've run across who don't seem to be from around here. So either you're the folks we're lookin' for, or you ain't. And if'n you ain't... then just who the hell are you?"

Charity looked up from her husband's attentions, suddenly alert. "Something's amiss, husband. Give us a moment, will you?" She stood, her lithe, dark skin glistening in the wan moonlight, and went to the window. As if seeing all the way to Bendo she peered into the dust cloud. "They're not together," she commented. "Perhaps they need a little help? Should I offer them a little help?" Charity chuckled softly, her laugh echoing like tinkling glass. Her hands began to move as if pulling strings, or perhaps a large spider plucking the threads of her web.....

(New- NPC Belligerent Ranchers - Bendo)
?
"Like I said, passin' strange, this storm," the old rancher repeated to his companions, several rough looking ranch hands. "Them five strangers rolled into town, an' now we're all holed up in this one chow hall wedged in like peas in a pod. I'm thinkin' maybe someone should do sumthin'." The other men at his table, the aformentioned 'riff-raff' grumbled again as he spoke. "Sumthin' weird is goin' on, an' I don't like it. Not one bit." Glaring at the table where Sicilien and Chase were being joined by Callie and Flynn he continued,? "An' lookie there, they're all a-meetin' up." The other men mumbled between themselves, looking between Etienne sitting alone and the table where Chase, Sicilien, Callie, and Flynn were. "Five strangers," the rancher prompted. In unison the band of burly men stood up. Six of them went to the table of four, and two to Etienne's table.
?
"We're thinkin'," one of them said ominously, standing over the group, "that this here dust storm ain't natch'ral, see?" They all nodded and he continued, "an we're thinkin' it has sumthin doin' with the five of you."
?
Several more of the townsfolk stood then, some of them holdilg bottles, knives, of other improvised weapons. Others in the restaurant moved towards the walls.

(New Chase) ?Chase realized he probably should have just gotten some food and went up to his room with this group. He remember the woman from the town back and seeing her with the other man, he could only assume they were together. His sense of smell told him the truth of that thought, they were very together. ¡®Lucky man.¡¯ He was aware of movement and the change in smells around the area as the townsfolk seemed to approach, his frustration at the sight of this as he wanted to get this particular mission over with. He realized that Amy had told a lot but left a lot of questions as well. One thing that was clear¡they were delayed from getting to Miller¡¯s Crossing¡which meant they needed to get to Miller¡¯s Crossing to bring this thing to an end. The townsfolk were not happy to see them and all but blamed them for the weather, which was stupid cause they were stuck in the town with these idiots. That alone put a big hole in their theory, but they were a superstitious lot so he knew this was going to end badly.? He didn¡¯t have to shift or change any more to tap into his strength, but to have all of his strength, he did.? But he also had a blade by his leg so he would end up using that. He noticed the woman moved but he only turned his leg so he was able to get up and moved if need be.? He could only guess at the subtle gesture, but she was a woman so would possibly be ignored. He heard the one called Flynn¡¯s story of having his horse come in and deal them a game of cards. That alone would have been fun and interesting even¡but the bag of gold¡that created a problem for him! Now he had created a big problem because this group would be more apt to fight just because he showed them the gold.? That was a bad move in this poor town.? He stood and moved to the side ?as he turned to be like the townfolk and watch the scene. While they were looking he loosened the latch on his leg blade. This simply was not going to work out well! He watched as the horse kicked the man in the head. He waited for someone else to moved and attack the group as shock took over. ? So that he could attack as well if need be, maybe that would stop them...maybe not. Tag - ? |

?(Old- Charity- Millers Crossing)
[Sicilien] As Sicilien listened to Callie and Flynn introduce themselves, sharing a bit of banter between them all, he began to notice a shift in the bar's atmosphere.? First it started with uncomfortable glances in their direction, followed by murmurs.? Eventually he began to hear distant sounds of chairs scraping against the floor, gradually getting closer and closer until a wave all of the patrons began to rise up.? Almost all of them had some kind of a makeshift weapon in their hands, be it a beer bottle that they just downed their gullets, a broom handle, their fists and as he noticed lights glinting off of several reflective surfaces, also knives.? Now he was 110% sure that none of this was natural.? Even when he traveled to Hell and back, been in all kinds of weather extremes, he's never seen such storms following up one after the other.? He received an additional confirmation when he was first joined by Chase, then Callie and finally Flynn.? He was always a solo flyer.? Why would strangers that he never met nor had any relation to would feel like they were meant to meet up?? However, something was still amiss here.? One of the rabblerousers mentioned that they were "five strangers," but why would he say that when there were only four?? That means they were one person short, but who?? Were they already here? "Man, can't a man get some peace around here?" he mumbled, feeling quite irritated.? At this point, his dinner has been interrupted no less than 3 times, he didn't have his drink yet, and nor did he have any clues as to his bounty's location.? Huffing like a bull, he kept an eye on the others as he nonchalantly pulled his hands down to his pockets.? Feeling through the fabric, one finger snapped open the locking clip on "Amano," the first friend that he always kept close to his thigh.? As he pulled his hand out, he took out a pack of cigarettes, shaking it up until a single roll popped, putting it up to his mouth as he pulled the rest out of out with his lips.? Tilting his head, he took stock of the situation again as he noticed Callie readying her weapon, one hand on the holster.? Placing the pack of cigarettes back, he now reached into the other pocket, taking out a lighter, stealthily unclipping the other lock on "Yuki," his second beauty, then flicked the container until it produced a flame and took a nice long drag, breathing out a cone of smoke.? As with the pack, Sicilien also placed it back.? He felt the guns vibrate, antsy for some action, though he wasn't ready to brandish them quite yet. Sitting up in his seat, he was about to say something when Flynn took charge.? The man began to address the crowd.? One by one, their attention was focused on him as his wildly exaggerated movements seemed to produce items out of sheer air.? Ah, so we have a trickster here.? Magic and redirection, something he was all too familiar with in his travels.? Though he didn't quite expect what happened next.? The crowd seemed to tense up as Flynn began walking backwards, arms up in a gesture of openness.? As he exited the building and the doors swing open, Sicilien watched as the storm swallowed up the man, then mere seconds layer, walked in a beautiful, black stallion, heading straight for the table with the deck of cards just as Flynn described.? He chucked to himself, hiding his smile with his fist, but then took another drag on the cigarette, pulling it back with the same hand.? So we have ourselves a shapeshifter, do we?? Might be useful, he thought to himself.? He watched as the horse stretched its head out, then without a warning kicked back so hard that the unfortunate victim caught by his hooves flew back into the crowd, parting it like the Red Sea.? Not expecting that, he raised his eyebrows but then tensed up.? That was not a well received action at all.? In fact, the crowd seemed to be more incited than before, so he tensed up, splaying his hands out as he readied himself for a fight. "What now, medicine man?? Hope you hoofing one of them was worth it," he spoke to the horse that was Flynn, standing up and taking a place beside Callie.? He watched for a second as the enboldened crowd took a few steps forward, suddenly rearing back as Sicilien pulled out his two revolvers and cocked their hammers back in one swift motion that would've been too hard for a normal eye to follow.? One black as the night, the other silver like the moon, he swept them over the shocked crowd, daring them to be the first to take yet another step toward them.? "I guess we don't have much of a choice here, do we?? Though none of you are my bounties, Amano and Yuki will have no problem finding their targets.? Shall we go out guns blazing?"? He looked to Callie, then Chase who seemed also be preparing for an attack.?? Just as he turned his head, however, he notice a movement out of the corner of his eyes just as a man lunged out of the crowd.? Before the crazed fellow could take another step though, a shot rung out as a bullet found its way right between the man's eyes.? The man stopped in his tracks, falling right at Sicilien's feet as the bounty hunter kicked him away with the top of his boot, recocking the hammer on Yuki from which streamed a wafer thin pillar of smoke.? This seemed to have stopped them in their tracks, at least for now, but now he was really angry. "Who wants take that next step into the next world?" he taunted, the corner of his mouth twitching into a half snarl, half smirk.? "Step right up, don't be shy!? OCC: Not sure if it's my turn. Please forgive me if I'm out of order. [Old Sicilien] As Sicilien listened to Callie and Flynn introduce themselves, sharing a bit of banter between them all, he began to notice a shift in the bar's atmosphere.? Tilting his head, he took stock of the situation again as he noticed Callie readying her weapon, one hand on the holster.? Placing the pack of cigarettes back, he now reached into the other pocket, taking out a lighter, stealthily unclipping the other lock on "Yuki," his second beauty, then flicked the container until it produced a flame and took a nice long drag, breathing out a cone of smoke.? As with the pack, Sicilien also placed it back.? He felt the guns vibrate, antsy for some action, though he wasn't ready to brandish them quite yet. As if to add to the commotion Sheriff Miller entered from outside, shaking the dust from his clothes. "What in tarnation is goin' on here?" he bellowed. Before anyone could answer, from the other door, a stablehand rushed in and yelled, "somebody done kilt that crazy ol' prospector! I just found him murdered!" The crowd swelled towards the five outsiders. Sheriff Miller drew his pistol and shot a round into the ceiling. "I'll have order! I'll shoot the next sumbitch that steps outta line!" ?<Callie Carson>
[Sicilien] After Sicilien broke the stand-off with the first shot, the crowd surged forward as curious bystanders rushed in from the one of the side entrances toward the back, filling out the crowd as if this place wasn't already packed like a can of sardines.? He watched Callie out of the corner of his eyes as she confronted some big ole lug of a human being.? The man waved his shotgun around as the woman pointed her gun straight at his forehead.? This didn't seem to bother the front liners at all, gnashing their teeth and trying to look menacing, like wolves who were sizing up the prey before them.? Except that who they thought were prey were also armed and dangerous and not willing to back down without a fight.? The only problem was they were slowly being pushed into a corner and there were more of them than there were of Sicilien and gang.? Suddenly, a sheriff popped out of the whole mess, shooting off a round (and wasting a bullet, Sicilien noted), when some belligerent idiot ran in through the front and started yelling about some asshole being murdered.? He could not believe the reaction that followed the screaming.? As if somehow they were responsible for what happened outside these walls.? However, this was enough to distract the sheriff who was promptly downed by a flying bottle smacking against his head with a loud "Clink!" "Man, if it ain't the biggest gathering of dumb fucks that I've ever seen," Sicilien growling, just about growing fed up with all this bullshit.? His trigger fingers started to get itchy, waiting for someone to make a move so that he'd have an excuse to retaliate and he didn't have to wait long either.? A couple of thugs stepped from behind the barrel of flesh and lunged at Sicilien, but like before, two shots rang out, adding two more bodies to the mix.? Was he going to have to keep doing that to build a wall between them and their aggressors?? He has no problem with that except he wasn't made of infinite bullets and he was sure neither were any of his party add-ons.? "Two more entrants sent to the gates of Hell.? Still feeling brave?? I could do this aaaall day." "You ain't got that many bullets!" a voice rang out in the crowd and a wave of laughter rode through the crowd, though it affected him none.? Sicilien simply smirked. "If you want to test that theory, then step right up!? Don't be shy!" he called right back, re-cocking his revolvers.? Flynn didn't seem to be doing so bad either.? Even in his horse form he managed to disarm this Jethro guy, then knocked him down.? Anyone who attempted to jump him were met with swift hoof, make that two hooves, to the face.? However, it seemed the shapeshifter had more up his sleeve.? The entire building suddenly became darker, as if someone dimmed all the lights, as Flynn started huffing out fire out of his nostrils, his eyes glowing like hot coals.? He looked as if he was one of Death's horses.? Seems this lot was quite the religious sort as the crowd suddenly receded around the beast, crossing themselves a thousand times over and muttering many a hail mary and various types of prayers.? That was just what they needed.? "Hey, Equus, think you could part the red sea for us?? I think we overstayed our welcome here." Before he could continue, a man even larger than the downed Jethro, came into view.? He seemed to be carrying someone over his shoulder, someone who didn't seem to be moving at all or perhaps was unconscious.? Stopping in front of the party, the man took his involuntary captive off and then placed them straight ahead of him, wrapping one of his sausage shaped arms around the other person's chest.? Sicilien couldn't tell who it was, except that it was clear the shape was feminine, but with the dim lights, the unconscious woman was half covered in shadow and the way she slumped in his hold brought her hair forward, hiding her face.? A glint in the light told him all he needed to know - the man was armed with a knife, the very same that he was using to threaten this female.? What exactly could this man stand to gain by holding this over their heads?? Sicilien tried to gauge the others' reactions, looking to Chase, Callie and Flynn.? The man mentioned she belonged with them, but was that a ruse or truth?? How were his companions going to react to this?

(New Chase) ? Chase was angry. At a lot of things, but the big large man was right. Etienne was special to him, he moved through the crows swiftly. His body had not undergone the change but he was truly at the place in his mind where he would tear this crowd apart to protect the poor woman who had done so much to getaway. With a gun in hand and blade in the other, he was at the man¡¯s right flank. The gun was aimed at the back of his head already cocked. Any sudden movie would blow a hole clean through his head. ? ¡°You harm her and your next breath will be in hell. You might kill her or choke her down but not before I make your head into a canoe. You got that! Put her down or I swear the devil there won¡¯t have a chance to inflict the pain I am going to inflict upon you!¡± Chase didn¡¯t have a reason to protect the woman, she hated him or seemed too for the most part¡but she was needed. For whatever was going on all of them were needed in all of this. He had no reason to think he would be free without her as such that made her even more valuable to him. The chance at freedom, to be free of this curse of life. ¡°So tell me¡is her life worth yours?!? Cause if you harm her any more I swear I won¡¯t stop at killing you¡I will hunt down everyone that ever shared your blood!¡± Chase was a monster¡this was one of those times he was willing to let the monster out on this side. ? He didn¡¯t look at the others, he didn¡¯t have the time. He wondered if they would think it was a good idea to travel with him after this. He enjoyed the Sicilien¡¯s bravado and didn¡¯t think about him running out of bullets. No one thought about the bullets so much as making sure they didn¡¯t get hit by any of them. He himself didn¡¯t think of himself as being anywhere near worthy of heaven, but these superstitious townspeople had been scared enough that he was going to use that to his advantage.?? Much like Flynn was doing right now. ?
He
pressed the blade further into the man¡¯s side, his senses kicking in as he
could feel his blood pumping through his veins all but willing him to change
into the beast that was itching to get out and feast upon the blood of each of
them. |

(Chase) ? Chase was angry. At a lot of things, but the big large man was right. Etienne was special to him, he moved through the crows swiftly. His body had not undergone the change but he was truly at the place in his mind where he would tear this crowd apart to protect the poor woman who had done so much to getaway. (Flynn) The pookah heard the man called Sicilien ask if he could part the crowd so the lot of them could get out of this madhouse. But there was also the matter of the dazed woman one of the crazed ranch hands was holding with a knife pointed at her side.? Fortunately, they were both very close to the door. Maintaining the illusions he'd created was a steady drain on his glamour, but Flynn still had enough to create at least one or two more.? Flynn flicked his tail up twice in Callie's direction, hoping that she'd get the message that he was about to do something. ? The pookah then glared at the knife-wielder with his glowing red eyes, then stamped his forehoof hard on the wooden floor as he snorted fire at the hand holding the knife.? Suddenly the knife became a rattlesnake, its tail-rattles twitching ominously as it hissed and writhed in the man's hand, twisting about viciously as it tried to sink its fangs into the man's arm. With the knife-wielder now distracted - and open to being shot by either Callie or one of the others - Flynn charged the remains of the crowd who happened to be blocking the exit, kicking and knocking down every man in his path, trusting that the others would collect the dazed sheriff and woman and get them outside once he'd cleared the way. [Sicilien] Everything seemed to be going to Hell in a hand basket and even though it felt like they were being pushed back, Sicilien felt a certain feeling of pride at how everyone handled themselves.? Callie seemed to be as good of a sharpshooter as he was, taking out two more men that lunged at both himself and Chase.? Though the crowd seemed to be split half between attacking and half praying to whatever God they worshiped, Flynn was doing a bang up job of keeping that second half at bay.? When they get out of this, IF they get out of this and get a moment of respite, he'd have to ask how the trickster/medicine man was casting this magic.? It seemed as real as anything else, especially when the horse was snorting fire out of its nostrils.? Things were getting a little too close for comfort though.? Had he more room to move around in his special hit-and-run style, the bullet that missed him and splintered the edge of the table would be nowhere near his side.? But it missed and that's all that mattered, making a note to later thank Callie for keeping the heat off him and Chase. Chase though...suddenly the man went berserk mode, moving to Jethro's side before anyone one of them could blink.? Sicilien felt the man's volatile energy, roiling like a burning storm, coming off as tendrils of extreme hate and anger.??What the hell, Chase???What the hell was going on in this place and why the hell is this woman so important to you?? Lover?? Innocent bystander and a man with a burning passion for crusading justice?? Our long awaited guest of honor???The reaction was certainly unexpected, but whatever this woman represented, whether she was indeed their fifth companion they all waited on or a victim of the situation, Chase left his back vulnerable and exposed to the rest of the bar.? With the way he was focusing on this captive, he was damn sure that the madman wasn't watching out for himself at all.? Sicilien made a small "tch!" sound, scowling a bit as he broke rank and rushed to cover Chase's ass, leaning his back against the man's as he used the barrels of his guns to motion the closest bystanders to move back. "Either you are the world's biggest dumb fuck or you have a serious hard-on for this woman, I don't know which is worse," he growled at the man, speaking only loud enough for both of them to hear it, turning his head so he could look at him with his one uncovered eye.? When Chase turned to look back at him, he thought he saw a glint of something quite inhuman in him.? His eye opened wide, but as he turned back to keep an out on the rabid riff-raff, his mouth curled into a slight smirk as they both gained some kind of understanding of their true natures.? Perhaps he wasn't the only one with a secret, feeling the skin around his eyepatch slightly itch at the thought.? "Don't really know you any but that woman better be worth her salt for you to act this rashly." In any case, it was clear that they had to go and they had to go now.? Braving the storm that was raging outside seemed to be a much better option since it didn't involve massacring the entire town.? Flynn must've heard his plea because the horse twitched and suddenly the knife pointed towards the woman turned into a rattlesnake, violently thrashing about as it attempted to slip out Jethro's grip, baring its fangs in an effort to sink them into his skin.? This caused the big, fat man to yelp in shock and surprise, releasing his hold on his captive victim as she fell to the floor in a heap.? The crowd flinched forward as if to grab at this female, but that moment was fleeting as lightning, because they just as quickly withdrew, a look of hesitation clearly written on their faces.? Of course, it helped that they still had a bunch of guns pointed in their general direction and the fact that not a single attacker managed to break through their blockade.? It was intimidating if nothing else. Looking at the crumpled heap on the floor, Sicilien suddenly felt a surge of anger well up in his throat, like a disgusting lump of bile that he couldn't swallow down.? Without any kind of warning or an indication, he thrust Amano right between Jethro's eyes, pressing the muzzle of the gun with quite a heavy force.? The man already seemed nervous due to Chase's gun and knife pointed at two different places, but he now had a third piece of steel added to the mix, his bulging eyes wildly moving from the snake to the revolver that was uncomfortably nestled in-between his sweaty brows.? The bounty hunter then took a step forward, forcing Jethro to step back in turn, moving him slightly away from woman.? It wasn't lost on him Flynn has charged through the rest of the citizenry, making a clear path for them outside.? Now was the time to run more than ever. "Chase, grab her and start getting the hell out of dodge.? I'll take the sheriff.? Callie, back us up.? We leave NOW," he said, reaching for the man and slinging him over his shoulder.? It was extra weight he didn't need, but it didn't look like they had much of a choice.? He waited for his compatriot to grab the anonymous woman, wanting him to go first, planning to follow second so that he could back up Callie while he did the same for her. <Tag: Chase, Cassie, Flynn, Sicilien, Etienne, Charity (as she sees fit)> OOC: Not sure I should've rotated the order as we go along, so I leave it up to you guys. ??? As she sat at her table waiting for the waitress to come back. Etienne noticed a change in the air. Her head rose to find a few of the townsfolk staring at her. She didn¡¯t like that. ??? Looking back down at her menu she planned to ignore them. But then the hairs on the back of her neck began to pickle. ??? Soon voice were raised and there was shouting and name calling and people targeting a table of people that was all the way across the room. And oh god was that...no it couldn¡¯t be...but it was...she had to get out of here. ??? As Etienne slowly rose, she did Have to stop when a large horse some how managed to walk through the overly already crowded with people table and chairs hotel Resturant. ??? Magic user. Yes it was definitely for her to get the hell out of dodge. She continued to try to make her way out either the door that would take her back to the hotel and up to her room or the front door. ??? Gun fire. Fuck he just killed someone. Slowly while the sheriff was speaking she inched closer and closer towards the door. When some yelled murder and the crowd erupted. Etienne bolted. Running towards the hotel door. She didn¡¯t get very far because the room went red then. Everyone in the place gasped...even her. ??? He dragged her back to the commotion stepping up with an evil glint in his eyes. ??? He let the girl slide down his front. Holding her around the chest to keep her up. <Old Charity/Sheriff Miller/Townsfolk> High up, in the rafters of the mezzanine over the restaurant, a lone rat perched unseen. It watched the commotion below intently. "What in tarnation do ya'll think yer doing?" he yelled. The crowd pulled back for a moment. Look, a bunch of you yahoos been shot! Cletus, Bill," he singled out two of the men, "go git Doc Pardham. Turning to the five outsiders he said, "you four, find that other fella and git over to the jailhouse. You're not under arrest, but I gotta separate ya t' keep the peace. Besides, I kin stand off a three day Apache raid in there, so you'll be safe." He glared at Flynn, "an' git that damn horse outta here! What the hell were you thinkin?" <Old Chase> ?Chase realized he left his new comrade¡¯s flank bare. It wasn¡¯t intentional he didn¡¯t like that the man was insinuating that the woman was his. He could wish, but she wanted nothing to do with him. But his focus was getting her to where they needed to go so he could be free. He knew full well the beast within him would scare these people much worse than the shapeshifter that was using his magic. Because Chase would be killing them, none of them were smart enough to be wielding silver so he would be all but bathing in their blood before midnight! He was angry on several levels, Etienne reminded him of his wife¡she had done nothing but still had to suffer so he was more than pissed at these yahoos for attacking her without cause. He heard the Sicilian with his smart ass, he knew he was a smart ass cause had the situations been reversed he would have been saying the same thing. But like him he wouldn¡¯t have left his partner's side, the man was backing his play¡so damnit! He owed him now. ¡°She is!¡± Was all he said¡did he want her¡yeah a part of him did, was she worth it¡yes¡she was like him she wanted her life back to be her own¡did he deserves to be with her? HELL NAW!!! He didn¡¯t deserve any woman near this good. But she didn¡¯t deserve this so he would help to set her free. ¡°Sorry¡I will cover you better from now on!¡± He whispered and even then the sounds of his words were quiet but came out guttural as if they were from deep within him. His eyes narrowed as the Sheriff came too and offered them sanctuary. ¡®Why?!?¡¯ He wanted to be gentle with Etienne, but he couldn¡¯t be some chivalrous knight right now. He might need to put a bullet in someone. With his knife put away and his gun in his hand,? the lovely woman was placed over his shoulder, her rear flank resting against his cheek. He would be more gentle later. He watched as Callie moved to the back, strangely enough, he didn¡¯t mind her being back there. He just was going to make sure not to be in front of her when she pulled her trigger as he was glad she was on their side. ¡°Ready!¡± He spoke his voice came forth still like ground gravel as his weapon was still in his hand. Seems fate had brought them back together anyway. He could only hope she would be ok sharing space with him, he knew he would take care of her till she woke up. This didn¡¯t fit¡still they needed to get out of here at daybreak, the longer they were here the longer whatever that was had more time to do¡whatever it was that Amy was talking about¡he knew it! (New Callie Carson) ? Callie brought up the rear, backing out of the saloon behind the group. Of the original gang of townsfolk who¡¯d come after them, five remained dedicated to the cause. The five followed behind them, facing Callie, two armed with rifles, the other three with pistols. They were all aimed at Callie and the group. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý[Sicilien]Everything seemed to be going to Hell in a hand basket and even though it felt like they were being pushed back, Sicilien felt a certain feeling of pride at how everyone handled themselves.? Sicilien felt the man's volatile energy, roiling like a burning storm, coming off as tendrils of extreme hate and anger.? What the hell, Chase?? What the hell was going on in this place and why the hell is this woman so important to you?? Lover?? Innocent bystander and a man with a burning passion for crusading justice?? Our long awaited guest of honor?? The reaction was certainly unexpected, but whatever this woman represented, whether she was indeed their fifth companion they all waited on or a victim of the situation, Chase left his back vulnerable and exposed to the rest of the bar.? <Charity/Sheriff Miller/Townsfolk> ??? He'd been doing his best not to outright kill any of the locals but the ones that were still alive and able to move were being persistent, snarling threats as they followed the group out into the street, rifles and guns out menacingly. And the howling storm was so intense that just seeing more than ten feet was proving difficult. ?? There was no getting around that the rear threat had to be dealt with first, but the pookah didn't fancy getting shot, even with ordinary lead bullets. Concentrating, he dropped all of his illusions - the dimming of the light, the red eyes and flaming nostrils, the rattlesnake, and the stack of gold coins on the table - and recast the glamour over their five pursuers... turning them into five horned, fanged demons with batwings, pointed tails and cloven hooves. As the startled 'demons' began screaming and shooting at each other, Flynn turned and nudged Callie with his flank, offering himself as a shield against the howling wind as he headed for where he remembered the jail being. <Tag (in order):? <Charity/Sheriff Miller/Townsfolk>
[Sicilien] Now that the sheriff was no longer the dead weight he didn't want to carry, Sicilien was free to help defend their flank against the few townsfolk that the sheriff wasn't able to knock some sense into.? As the party started backing up out of the restaurant and the door was swung open, he, like the rest of them, was buffeted by the chaotic storm outside.? His very being was assaulted by the sand that he was sure was going to end up in places where the sun don't shine, but there was nothing they could about that.? It was either fight to the death inside or be sandblasted to bits.? It was six of one half dozen of the other. "Well, I hope one of you knows where they're going in this storm, cause I sure ain't!" he yelled back, immediately regretting the action as some grit landed on his tongue.? He could be wrong but Sicilien felt like this troupe had some familiarity with this place, so he was going to have to count on someone to lead him out of this mess.? Though jail wasn't exactly where he's want to spend the night, it didn't seem like that much of a choice either way you spun it.? So he followed the ones that seemed to know where they were going.? He kept his guns up, making sure that Callie's ten and two were covered as they exited this place.? Right before he did so, the atmosphere suddenly changed again, with the darkness that they experienced falling away.? Instead, the riff-raff that followed them suddenly took on demonic shapes, howling and yowling as they set about attacking each other.? It was a very welcome distraction, giving them just enough time to get out.? Now to find this jail and hole up for the night.? He had a lot of questions that he needed answering, and he hoped that his new companions were amicable enough to answer them.

<Chase> There was nothing for him to make of this¡so he didn¡¯t try.? He could pull his kerchief up to his face but he could barely see.? He could only hope his feet wouldn¡¯t fail him and his determination would push him.? He was sure he could hang on to the mustang given female form in the shape of Etienne.? Seems the wizard remembered the way, He was sticking close to the Sicilian while making sure the areas the he could at least see with his squinting eyes were covered. At least as they moved through the hell sent sandstorm, his gun cocked and ready to be fired just in case.? He still wasn¡¯t sure this was a good idea..they would be hold up inside the sheriff¡¯s office and they needed to get to the other town¡something in what Amy said made him think they were working on a clock¡time was not on their side.? He knew it¡some evil magic¡it was pretty simple.? Talking was useless since if he wasn¡¯t careful he would get a mouthful of sand quickly.? ¡®Don¡¯t stop!¡¯? He was nothing if not focused. ?
