Great Tip! IIRC, I think MidiOX for PC is pretty solid for (windows users). -- “The longest journey starts with the first step." - Lao Tzu

About Firmware update for QY100
Hi, Updating this device (QY100) is a scary endeavour, if you've ever tried. I bricked mine while trying using the .MID file from JayB's site. but it was not the file, rather the tool. I ended up

Re: Best ways to control the volume of the QY-100.
FYI - This is a reply to the same question I got on Facebook: "The physical side button will not have (is not) MIDI controlled You have CC7 & CC11 for midi volume On a side thought. Each channel

Re: Best ways to control the volume of the QY-100.
Is there a CC value in the QY that has a 0-127 assignable to controller that relates to the actual volume output? And/or can an external host have some line level control that can be manipulated?

Re: Best ways to control the volume of the QY-100.
I still don't know why this is such a tough issue. A volume pedal is what I suggested in the beginning. Kaltar is right about the noise problem when your approach is to change the MIDI

Re: Best ways to control the volume of the QY-100.
Changing the MIDI volume is not the correct way. you lower the sound but not the noise (signal to noise ratio). if you lower the volume by half, it’s the equivalent of doubling the noise. you need

And i’m surprised you didn’t know! You know pretty much everything about the QY.

That’s awesome man! I’m glad you got it all worked out. I was very interested myself as I didn’t know the answer either. (and I’m running the group, lol). Cheers, Eric -- “The longest

Re: Best ways to control the volume of the QY-100.
Thank you. Since I posted, I found out I will need a specialized device, a MIDI host, and the host I found, happens to have 2 built-in pedal control jacks. It looks like it will solve the problems of

Re: Best ways to control the volume of the QY-100.
Is this question deceptively difficult? Sounds like you could put a volume pedal between the output of the QY-100 and the "aux-in" jack of the GP-10. This kind of continuously-variable attenuation

Best ways to control the volume of the QY-100.
Hey group. I use a MIDI pickup equipped guitar+ Roland GP-10 guitar processor. To make a story short, the Roland module will output MIDI to the QY-100. Then the? audio output of the QY-100 gets
Re: how do you all send midi program change/bank select messages to your gear from your QY?
Hi, Welcome to the group! To change the instrument via MIDI, You need to look at the LIST BOOK ?for the QY 70/QY 100. In order to change the bank/program number via Midi you need send TWO/THREE
Re: how do you all send midi program change/bank select messages to your gear from your QY?
I have a qy300 and i'm hoping the process will be very similar to the qy700. 1) select the track you want (usually and by default the track number is the same as the midi channel number) 2) press the

how do you all send midi program change/bank select messages to your gear from your QY?
i'm using a QY700, but i imagine the processes are related. i cannot find this information in the manual, and am having to manually set the patches in the synth for each song.

thankyou, I think modifying the midi file size is the way to go.

Re: yamaha qy300 memory full
thankyou yes thats exactly what I've been thinking today. 99% of all modern songs are simply repeating patterns that I could - as you say - import into the pattern memories and play the file that way.

Re: yamaha qy300 memory full
You just need to get a new memory chip, and afterwards, design a new motherboard, adjust any path (and controller) to access the new registers and reprogram the firmware.
