Re: VSTi FM Synths )OPS Parameters (classic mode SYX) and REAPER
开云体育? I think OPS7 needs to be in “classic” mode, not “extended” mode. Then you need to go to the SYX page and find a SYSEX dump (32 patches) Copy (left-click, shift to select all of the sysex patches) and drag them to either A or B Then there are a couple of parameters within OPS7 that are open for you to use in a macro controller... ? i.e. ? B:Bank Patch (has 0-31 values) – parameter 576 A:Bank Patch (has 0-31 values) – parameter 512 ? REAPER ? Open the FX window for OPS7 – twiddle any knob within OPS7 In the FX window surrounding OPS7, left-click “param”, left-click “show in track controls” In the main Reaper window, in the OPS7 track... Right-click the new control At the bottom of the list should be “VSTi: Chipsynth OPS7...” (left click on that) This will start to show all of the available OPS7 parameters... the bottom of that list is an upside down triangle – left click that to scroll down (a long long way!!) Param 512 is A:Bank Patch Param 576 is B:Bank Patch ? Now you can right-click on the control, show envelope This will have a usable knob for selecting the patches (and presumably an envelope to draw in the MIDI or Track editor. ? Regards Glen ? ? Did you shoot an email to the company which makes it? Because I bet they can help you quicker than I can (or fix the problem if there's a bug).

Re: VSTi FM Synths
thx for the link !
I downloaded and installed the demo. 4 min of usage is not much, but I was able reloading the standalone- and plugin- version every 4 minutes and checked it out more deeply. VST2, VST3 and standalone,- on a Lenovo W540 (quad i7, 2.5GHz) Windows 10 Pro laptop w/ 2 SSDs and 16GB of RAM. This is a great plugin ! I?d say it really can do in a DAW what a DX7mkIIFD, TX802 and TX216 do in hardware. Surprisingly low CPU too and in dual-mode. In Reaper, together w/ ReaLimit in VSTi channel and 2 more plugins in the master section (Loudmax and Voxengo Span) I got 3,75% CPU regardless of voicecount, just playing polyphonic like I do w/ the hardware. I can imagine buying it. I say as a DX7mkII, TX816 and TG77 1st owner using the hardware still. Owned the old DX7 before I bought the DX7mkIIFD. When the mightl come w/ a "quad-synth" version mimking 4x2 TF-1 modules under the hood, that would be ice on the cake. 4 instances will do too even I?d expect better handling from a single plugin on a single track. :-) Am 23.03.2022 um 14:05 schrieb Jeremy Bernstein via groups.io: I would recommend this: -- Diese E-Mail wurde von Avast Antivirus-Software auf Viren geprüft. |
Re: VSTi FM Synths
Bruce Wahler
开云体育Hi Larry,Interesting.? I think I could live with those limits, though.? My rig has a lot of sound sources:? a Nord Stage 3, a DSI Tetra synth, SampleTank, and the TX802.? So, the TX is mostly used for 'traditional' FM sounds like glassy bells and horns.? So, I think that having something that mimics 4-8 DX7s -- or 3-4 DX7s and a good stereo chorus -- might be all I really need.

Re: VSTi FM Synths
开云体育One of the things I learned early on – like back in the 80s – is that while the TX802 claims to be a rack DX, it’s not exactly. In about 1988, the Yamaha Marketing nobs came out with patches to compete with the new Roland D50 and they were handing them out.? Glassy, breathy, wooden… that kinda stuff.? Very cool and new for FM. Whether operator timing or envelope velocity or others, the patches would not translate to DX.? Maybe it was out on the edges of the functions, but it wouldn’t sound anything like the 802.? Lots of other stuff was plenty close, but most of these were not.? I dunno.? Trouble is, some of these are my absolute faves and are indispensible even today. So dumping the 802, which I’ve considered many times – I run my pair in even/odd mode – hasn’t worked in a simple manner that I’ve found. ? L. ? 开云体育I use Native Instruments FM8 software. It faithfully emulates every patch from my DX7II-FD and even accepts SysEx dumps, so I can transfer entire banks of patches at once.On Mar 23, 2022, at 06:03, Bruce Wahler via groups.io <bw@...> wrote:

VSTi FM Synths

开云体育Hi All,I have a TX802 that I have been gigging with for years.? At this point, though, I would like to retire it to the studio 100% of the time for a couple of reasons:

开云体育Yes, you can connect a wire in place of the circuit board trace.? At the most fundamental level, that's what a circuit board trace is, a thin wire.? As long as the wire does not touch any other traces when you are finished, it will work. Two comments:

开云体育Yes you can. ? Clean the area with IPA and scrape away the green laquer to expose the copper trace. ? Solder a Wire between the two pins of the battery. ? However, you must check the PCB on the component side to check which pin is used to connect to the rest of the circuitry. ? WT ? Re: TX81Z patch question
Hi Geoff, You can't loose and you can't change the 128 factory presets that are in ROM in bank A B C D. The 32 user patches can be filled with whatever you want. Save your current patches in your computer if you want to restore them later. I don't know Edisyn, but if it is any good it should give you this possibility. Re: TX81Z patch question
开云体育I know that the DX21 used to have all of the factory presets stored in Read Only Memory chips,? I could restore 8 sounds at a time into the internal RAM memory.? Not sure about the 81Z, you may need to restore via MIDI (but get the manual online to find out!).? Also look up DX11 and V2 – they are the same synth and similar to the TX81Z. ? Ant, did you happen to measure diameter of both DX7 screws? The M4.2 I ordered won't fit lol ??♀? Sent with Secure Email.
