I am having the exact same problem. Packet works fine on FT-7900 vhf. Put the same cable into Packet Port on 847, keys up fine, tx fine, signal but no audio heard on another receiver. My understanding

I was wondering if you are using the DATA in/out port for the signal instead of the Packet port.
Or maybe, the jumper block inside the signallink is wired slightly different.

Try to run the radio full power only with a dummy load, and measure
the voltage supply in Tx and Rx Modes.
Make sure the voltages are within specs. The 847 has an over voltage
protection.

Check your power supply connections. Loose connection are OK during
receive, but during transmit, you will be a voltage drop resulting in all
kinds of bad things happening including relay

There are two SSB filters...? One TX and one RX (owner's manual page 95).? Are both of yours narrow?? If not, you could try swapping them.? Using SPLIT or FAKE SPLIT in FT8 should keep your TX
