Hi.
Try to run the radio full power only with a dummy load, and measure the??voltage supply in Tx and Rx Modes.?
Make sure the voltages?are within?specs. The 847 has an over voltage protection.?
If you need I can send you the circuit?diagram of the power supply for further investigations.

Check your power supply connections.? Loose connection are OK during
receive, but during transmit, you will be a voltage drop resulting in all
kinds of bad things happening including relay chatter.

Closest I've had was the in-line fuse overheating, corroding and making poor
contact. Mine were the cartridge fuses, not the spade terminal ones which
are a lot better.
