Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
Was the plan to use 0db as the drive level, if so the lpf issue won't be a
problem because your bypassing the PA

Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
I should have added? "and other transverters".
I also want to make use of 222 MHz as well, requiring the use of 28-31 MHz transmit.
So, the question still stands.

Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
Cam, why do you want to use a transverter with the FT-847? Is there
something deficient with the 2M mode of the Ft-847? If so, seems like it
would be far easier to address the problem than to go

Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
You can easily change the FT847 to TX from 144 to 174 MHz,
Also the use version goes from 144 to 148,

FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
Hello all,
I'm trying to research the capabilities of the use of the FT-847 with a transverter, requiring the use of 10 meters. The issue may be the requirement for opening transmit to 32 MHz to get

Well the SignaLink USB working great on the 847. 30w out got Japan on my G5RV.

John,
There some magic inside that SL to close the circuit to allow the audio to pass to Tx on the rig. I just cannot figure out what is happening to make it work with the Easy Digi board and the pg

Re: FT-847 Digital Modes
Correct; the 847 doesn't do VOX, but I believe the SignaLink does.
That was the only way it made sense to me that things were working.
The SignaLink was keying the rig via its own internal

Re: FT-847 Digital Modes
Tim,
I took up your request to test the keying my radio using a SignaLink and VOX.? My Audio is fed from the SignaLink to the radio using the SLCAB847 cable, plugged into the Data In/Out jack

Not sure if your last post was for me or Greg.
I can get it to work no problems using the DB9 pins for PTT. I was hoping not to have to build a serial cable for rig and splice into the

Hi Greg, check out John M0UKD’s website. At the bottom of this page just above the comments section is a design that should help.

Thanks for your input. Yes that is the challenge for me. Being able to use the PTT function on the Data IN/OUT jack at the rig to pass the audio from pc to rig without damaging the radio

Re: FT-847 Digital Modes
Using one of the modem lines (RTS or DTR) is likely the "universal" control point for PTT, with a single transistor acting open-collector for pulling the PTT line low.? I would add a series resistor

Is there no way to take the RTS pin on the 9 pin connector and run it into a transistor at the base and use it to switch the PTT line at 0vdc.
This way you can still use the RX, TX and gnd pins for
