Re: FT-847 IN TX ALL TIMES
Quite agree this would be an improvement. I used a 4N25 optocoupler on my
FT-100 interface (that has a slightly different configuration) and still
use it today with the FT817

Re: FT-847 IN TX ALL TIMES
Hi Ian, that’s a beautiful circuit and could only be improved by replacing the 2N2222 with a 4N33.

This is what have been using for the last 25 years with the FT-847 with
various data modes in both SSB & FM including FT-8

Re: FT-847 IN TX ALL TIMES
I've used my FT-847 on both 6 and 2M, no problem. Just used the sample
interface circuit in the manual.

Re: FT-847 IN TX ALL TIMES
Check to insure the MOX button is not pushed in. The MOX button is right
under the power switch, easy to push by mistake.

You didn't by any chance bump the MOX switch on the front?

FT-847 IN TX ALL TIMES
I have a 847 that had been working fine until I started tinkering with the DATA IN/OUT jack trying to interface a computer.? Now when I turn power on it is in TX continually and cannot get it out?

Re: ftm100 PA
Dear Stanley,
I good suction desoldering tool will help here to get as much solder off as possible, there are two ways, I find with a broad soldering tip and an iron of around 60-80 watts, flux

Re: ftm100 PA
1)? At a bare minimum you need a hot air rework station.
2)? Better is a hot air rework station and a PCB preheater.
3)? Best is what I use which is a automated computer controlled rework station

ftm100 PA
what is a good procedure for removing the PA from the FTM100 motherboard? I have used solder wick to remove most of the solder but of course it is still attached. I have no special tools for that. Any

Re: C1200 on AF-CTRL board
HI Lars
I could find Q1107 on the schematic diagram, maybe you can find C1200 ? if I see C1200 is around pin 12/13/14 of Q1107 ?
Good Luck

C1200 on AF-CTRL board
Hello group,
I've replaced the chip Q1107 on the AF-CTRL board, but I lost C1200 (sits near Q1107), and I cannot find a parts list for FT-847.
Does anyone know the value of C1200 on the AF-CTRL

Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
At this point, the transmit level needs to be 5 Watts (+37 dBm) for driving my current transverter(s).
So, just using the normal output, not any taps internal to the rig.

Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
Was the plan to use 0db as the drive level, if so the lpf issue won't be a
problem because your bypassing the PA

Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
I should have added? "and other transverters".
I also want to make use of 222 MHz as well, requiring the use of 28-31 MHz transmit.
So, the question still stands.

Re: FT-847 use with transverter for 144 MHz from 28MHz
Cam, why do you want to use a transverter with the FT-847? Is there
something deficient with the 2M mode of the Ft-847? If so, seems like it
would be far easier to address the problem than to go
