Re: VHF Packet audio
I am having the exact same problem. Packet works fine on FT-7900 vhf. Put the same cable into Packet Port on 847, keys up fine, tx fine, signal but no audio heard on another receiver. My understanding is that the Packet Port is for vhf/uhf packet which is what I want, and that the data in/out port is for HF. So you are not alone John. Maybe we can both get some help with this.? 73 de Dennis VE3XC

开云体育I was wondering if you are using the DATA in/out port for the signal instead of the Packet port. Or maybe, the jumper block
inside the signallink is wired slightly different. Just a thought. 73 Douglas On 9/13/2020 4:11 PM, John Rudolph

I have everything working and confirm it works on my FT-8900 which successfully sends packets audio but I can not get the 847 to pass the transmit audio. When I send a beacon the signalink keys up the 847 but no audio is passed through to the radio. The 847 will receive packets and it will pass computer audio from other sources through the 847 and key up the radio but no audio. I also did see the renaming the USB audio names and like I said it works very well on the 8900 but I'm lost. I did try playing with the tx delay in agwpe but still no change. So to summarize: * 8900 No issues and works as normal *847 -Keys radio but no audio for tx with no changes to setup. -Does key and pass system sounds when set to do so. I appreciate any help that might solve my issue or special settings needed to get the audio to pass. -- 73 Douglas Richards VE3FFR ve3ffr@... |

Re: Inside A Collins XF-115C 500 hz CW Filter
Guilty!? My parents could tell you horror stories (for them) about me taking apart things when I was very young.? :^)? And that's only the things they found out about. Hihi!
But the story about the filter is that after looking for two years in Canada, I found only 3 but of the first two, one wanted Paypal only (which I don't do), the 2nd one I missed by a few hours, 3rd one: success! ....until it arrived in the mail totally crushed. |
Re: Chattering or Flickering
Hi. Try to run the radio full power only with a dummy load, and measure the??voltage supply in Tx and Rx Modes.? Make sure the voltages?are within?specs. The 847 has an over voltage protection.? If you need I can send you the circuit?diagram of the power supply for further investigations. Mike ?4X1LM?? ??????? ???, 15 ????? 2020 ?-19:48 ??? ?Bill?? <?k2wh@...??>:? Chattering or Flickering
Douglas Richards
Hello All
Has anyone had either of these 2 symptoms on their 847? When powering up or occasionally during operation to chatter or flicker causing you to restart controller software. I have had it, now, several times. It sounds like relays trying to make contact. If this has happened, is there a fix? Thank you 73 Douglas VE3FFR |
Replacement Part
Will
Well somehow I managed to loose/misplace one of the 2 smaller rubber button inserts when I had the display unit disassembled for other repairs.? This was the Tuner Button Rubber insert in the face plate.? I was wondering if anyone has a parts radio that would be willing to sell me a replacement rubber part.
Thanks, Will - N7IPY |

Re: 847 stock ssb rx filter
thats a good idea Mike??
almost cheating?? but it wont work currently as the CAT circuit is poofed on my rig no life on the lines at all?? I have the MAX232 chip and the muxer chip on hand, for when the day comes and 6M isnt open?? ?? and after more thought?? that is a excellent solution, as I very seldom move off of my TX freq of favor?? and even when doing voice on 2 and 6 that wont really bother?? so till I find a filter I am in business |

847 stock ssb rx filter
My 847 has a 2100 or 2300 Hz Inrad filter
and want to find a stocker or even wider?? the narrow filter is not the best when bangin away on 6M FT8 and the like?? I know Inrad sold a 2800Hz filter, but even if it was still available I wont be paying $180 for it if anyone has a stocker? and someone need the narrow in mine? de k9wkj |
