Re: Is there a good explanation on how to use Yaesu Memory banks?
From your description of what you want, I think memory banks are exactly
what you want. Great call!
"liverman at att.net" just posted a good explanation so I'll not repeat but
hopefully expand.

Re: Is there a good explanation on how to use Yaesu Memory banks?
Joy,
I use the banks to divide the frequencies into groups for different parts of the state (and neighboring states) so that I can enable and disable scanning those channels as I travel around the

Is there a good explanation on how to use Yaesu Memory banks?
I am a new ham with an FT-60 R/E. I have a list of frequencies by city that are used in emergencies and for net control. It looks like the memory banks might be what I am looking for.

Re: Installing HT, into a 2002 Windstar
I don't recall mentioning a trunk lid, I see more explanation is needed,
You do have Hatch that has a edge where the Antenna could be mounted. I
had a Pontiac Vibe and I Fabricated a bracket that

Installing HT, into a 2002 Windstar
I used to have a Windstar! Think about using a "Through the glass" antenna on the side window or a deck lid mount that attaches with small set screws you can place at any location or height. The

Re: Installing HT, into a 2002 Windstar
I would normally agree, I would put any antenna on the trunk lip, however, this is a mini van, so for two reasons, I have to use the engine compartment.1. A minivan has no trunk.2. When using an

Installing HT, into a 2002 Windstar
I have a 2002 Windstar minivan, and would like to install my FT-60 and a 75 watt brick with fuse block in it. I have decided, that for the best location, and mount, that Proclip has a mount, that will

That wasn't OT as I see it, Wassim. Unfortunately, I was enjoying the day in hospital, having smashed my right ankle and, temporarily, my ability to drive.
On the bright side, the hardware now

I've always had two FNB-83s and swapped them out. The charger that came with my unit is the Yaesu SBH-13 desktop model. My experience is that I use each battery until the battery warning signal

Re: No one hears me
For several years now, I have relied on the 2300mAH Eneloop brand NIMH
cells in the FBA-25A accessory battery tray for main use of my FT-60, and the
1400mAH cells in the FNB-83 as my back up. I

The usual reply to "how long" has to be "Until it is charged." That doesn't help much but the accurate answer requires a seriously complex response that is tied to the battery chemistry. I am a

Re: No one hears me
The manual should say. Are you using just a wall wart or a rapid charger? When the radio says it is done charging, unplug it. If on a rapid charger, the green light will say when it is done and most

Re: No one hears me
You can charge at 7.4 volts, just don't overcharge it. You cannot transmit while plugged in unless you are using at least around 3 amps. The wall wart or rapid charger will not work.
