I've always had two FNB-83s and swapped them out.? The charger that came with my unit is the Yaesu SBH-13 desktop model.? My experience is that I use each battery until the battery warning signal comes on, and I immediately swap out, with the full charge taking about three hours and forty minutes until the red charge light goes off.
Just in the last couple of weeks I bought a third battery to replace one of the two that I've used since I bought the radio.? I noticed that it did not last quite as long as it used to, and the voltage dipped lower than expected when I transmitted so it was due.? It was the battery that I had dropped a couple of feet onto a hard floor, so I suspect that it may have been slightly damaged since the other original battery is showing no signs of age as yet. The new battery works very well, and I have been extremely happy with my FT60 since I bought it new 11/18/14.
