Dennis,
I look up the repeaters for the locale I'm going to and program them in the radio. I also include the two simplex national calling frequencies of 146.52 VHF and 446.00 UHF. Their are also

Re: FT-60 headphone thump?
Yes. I used to plug a small FM transmitter into mine and monitor the
radio on my car FM radio - there was a very annoying thump when the
squelch closed.

Re: FT-60 headphone thump?
Yep, thanks Kelly. I¡¯m asking about the headset out on the MH-34 speaker/mic, which is a 3.5mm mono jack. I just tried adding a filter and that seems to have done the trick. Two .33¦Ìf dipped

Re: Instantly check frequency of a alphanumeric memory?
Hello,
"Is there a way to do this on a FT-60 ?"
Yes if you press the BAND button (between the 0 and the F/W). It will toggle between frequency and Alphatag.
Hope this helps.

Re: Programming using Chirp
I agree 100%.
RT Systems products are the best and they are a US company, unlike some others. Their excellent tech support, should you ever need it, is just a phone call away.

FT-60 headphone thump?
Hello all!
Have any of you put a decent set of headphones on your FT-60?
I got around to wiring up a mono adapter for the speaker mic headset socket on mine, and on a lark shortened the cable

Re: Programming using Chirp
Switch to RT Systems software and cables. After fiddling around with Chirp, I tossed it and purchased the RT Systems application and associated cable.
I now have RT Systems for FT-60, FT-7900, and

Re: Instantly check frequency of a alphanumeric memory?
The Band button worked great. It's the fastest way to obtain the frequency info.
Thank you all for your answers.

Re: Instantly check frequency of a alphanumeric memory?
John,
I've owned FT-60's almost continuously since they came out in the early 2000's and never knew that.
Thanks for pointing it out.

When I'm in memory mode and want to see the frequency behind the label
I've assigned, I just tap the "Band" button (which puts the radio in
"Tune" mode). Tap "Band" again to exit "Tune", and go
