This might help, from the Service Manual.

I'm a bit confused in the manual where it tells what variation you have

So here is what I currently have onboard:

Do any of these look like they might be a problem if they're not
the right iteration of a certain board?

Thanks for any help

Re: First visual inspection on my newly acquired Yaesu FT-101E. How's it look?

I've taken tube radios to the car wash, but a bit leery of doing that with the PCB arrangement in this case. Which is the only reason I didn't suggest that myself.

Re: Wire on MOX-PTT-VOX switch?

Disregard folks... I found it.
It goes to the PTT line on the MIC Jack (with the other
Grey/White wire)

Wire on MOX-PTT-VOX switch?

Hello again group,

While servicing the Phones jack on my FT-101EE, I noticed a loose wire in the same
vicinity.

I don't know if this wire has been loose or if it broke loose when removing the phone jack.

It is a GREY/WHITE wire and one end of it is connected to the lower lug of the MOX-PTT-VOX
switch.? I am looking to where the other [loose] end connects to.

Any help appreciated...

Hello group,

I have an FT-101EE (1976 vintage I believe)

I have noticed the capacitor in the C103 position is a 1000uf 25v, whereas the
schematic calls for a .047uf to be there.? Schematic also shows this as being a
non-electrolytic, whereas mine is.

C-103 connects to the T12 transformer on the bottom of the chassis.

So, question is...what is the proper cap there?

Thanks!

HF autotuner

Hi group,

Do any of you have suggestions for (or have for sale) a relatively inexpensive HF autotuner I can use with my FT-101EX?

Don't need any bells and whistles, just something that might work with my non-resonant dipole.

Thanks for any input,

Richard

Re: FT-101EE component question

Bruce, Thanks for the reply, but I don't think you got the gist of my question.

I wasn't asking if it should be there. I was asking about the huge disparity between
the values of what I actually see in the radio vs. what the schematic calls out.

Re: FT-101EE component question

They are both supposed to be there. One is s simple RF ground. The?electrolytic cap is “grounded” through the lamp bulb. But it is wired with the positive lead grounded through the bulb.?

Look at it carefully.?

驰别蝉….贬耻苍诲谤别诲蝉.

Go to Youtube.?
Search FT101?

“The Radio Shop” channel is particularly good and has many restoration videos for all FT101’s

There is tons of information out there.
