Roger,
?
Yes, I agree I have to check the circuit before
replacing the meter and destroying a new meter.
I will search ebay again and see if I can find the item
you mention.
Thanks

Item # 114863571802 . Before putting in a good meter suggest checking the IC current measurement section resistors first. 73 Roger VE7LB |
Re: FT-101E Receive Fault
Steve the RF gain circuit is connected to PC 1181 - MJ(1), PB 1183 -MJ(3), PB 1582- MJ(7). Check the voltage chart. pg 4-17 Emerson PP6EW Em qua., 8 de set. de 2021 às 01:14, Steve <steve@...> escreveu: Hi |
Re: FT-101E Receive Fault
开云体育Hi Noel, The fault is only on receive, I have not tried to transmit yet.? I have found the info about neutralization, but not sure how this affects receive only. Steve G4AQB ? Sent from for Windows ? |
Re: Low Receive
Since it is a fast acting event... the?first thing I would do is replace the receive first RF amp.?
Q1 dual gate mosfet.? 3N211 transistors are still easy to find.? But any decent, four leg dual gate mosfet of that ilk.. will tell you if it’s bad.? I doubt the receive line fuse is blown, as others might suggest.? |

Cabinet Cover Screws for an FT-101ZD
Having misplaced the eight top cover screws, I am looking for a set of cabinet cover screws for a Yaesu FT-101ZD transceiver. The screws are cadmium plated steel metric, 3 mm diameter, 0.5 thread pitch, Phillips pan head painted a dark gray, of length 5 mm fully threaded. I would like the gray painted screw heads to match the original cabinet paint.
Thank you. 73, Michael Smith N4KZO |
Re: Fox Tango Corp. 89H2.1 IF Filter Specification and Installation Information and Schematic Needed: filter installed in an FT-101ZD Mk 0
Hi Michael,
Take a look in the Files section and open the old Fox Tango Newsletters pdf. Do a search for "Filter". These page number entries came up under FT-101ZD: 7942, 8233 & 8213. There are others as well but these are the first three.? You will find 7942 (Year 1979 page 42) in the pdf at page 477 (of 1292 pages). This looks like what you are looking for. If not just keep searching. 73 Roger VE7LB |

FT-101ZD MK0, Series 05: 12 Volt D.C. Power Supply Tolerance
Does any one know the tolerance for the 12 VDC power supply? ?With the transformer set to 117 VAC (noted on the rear panel), the 12 VDC buss measures 11.77 VDC at the Lever Switch Unit PB-1975 (NO. 20) S01 (input, brown wire), D.C. supply to the noise blanker.

BM setting on ft101B
I think my BM adjustment was inadvertently changed when adjusting the ALC.? They are next to each other.? I couldn't find anything about this adjustment in the user or repair manuals.? Can any help me make sure the BM adjustment is set correctly?
On a different topic.? I have an FT-101B that I used back in the 70s.? It has been sitting in a box for maybe 40 years.? I started it up using a variac and bringing the voltage up slowly.? It is clear from noise in various controls and switches that there are dirty of corroded contacts.? Is it advisable to spray contact cleaner on noise controls and, if so, what is the correct way to do this? It does send and receive. I look forward to and appreciate any assistance on these two matters. Thanks, --Kenoli KB6EMG |
