Yes, I agree I have to check the circuit before
replacing the meter and destroying a new meter.
I will search ebay again and see if I can find the item
you mention.

Hi Tim,
When I search eBay for FT-101 meter I get about 10 results
for S meters including one for $16 delivered. Item # 114863571802 .
Before
putting in a good meter suggest checking the IC current measurement section
resistors first.
