Re: Schematic jpeg?
Hi Richard, I suppose that you don't have a good pdf reader as the FT-101E_Late_Schematic.pdf in the files section is high res 11 x 30 inches. I just added a jpeg version of the same file in the same folder. You could put the pdf version on a usb stick and take it to one of the printers (Kinkos?) and get a full 11 x 30 inch printed.

Schematic jpeg?
开云体育Question from a newbie to the group. Has anyone scanned the long fold-out schematic for the FT-101E to a single high res jpeg file? If so, I would appreciate a link to download same. Being able to zoom in and out and scroll right and left would be great.
The chopped up schematics in the downloadable PDF manuals are difficult for these old eyes. I'm anxious to get started on my EX model that has weak receive and been reading about the bulb fuse and RF amp mosfet. Tnx for any help.

FT101E No Output Power
All,
There is no voltage on Pin 5 of the mixer board, which should by 13v.? On 80M I hear crackling on receive, like a bad tube or a bad cap, and the plate knob acts like the the preselect that “peaks the receiver” but not as significant as the Preselector knob, I do have proper idle current of 60ma.

Sorry Bruce, I just reread your initial post and see that it is the main analog dial that you are talking about.? 73 Don ve3ids? On Sun., Jan. 29, 2023, 5:24 p.m. Don Richards, <ve3ids.don@...> wrote:

Re: FT-101 Main Tuning Dial Off Frequency
Bruce, is this a FT 101zd? IIRC, I had to net the reference crystal in the counter module in my zd. I think it is accessible through a little hole in the top of the counter case after you lift the processor module. It has been a few years since I did this so the details are foggy.? 73 Don ve3ids? Re: Help needed for FT-101EE
开云体育Update: Naturally...right after I posted this thread, I went back in and did some snooping. Took out relay RL-1 for examination under a microscope and found many of the contacts welded shut and/or very carbonized and dirty.? Upon a very thorough cleaning and burnishing, everything seems back to normal - or at least back to the way it was before. I'll try to lay out the events chronologically in order to explain what's going on. * Unit was used primarily on 80m achieving 100 watts out for about a year. No real issues * Unit then sat unused for about six months. * Unit brought back up but with considerably less power out (~20 watts max on 80m and far ??? less on higher bands. * Checked the 12BY7 driver tube on a tester and it showed marginal. * Replaced with another 12BY7 (tube had no markings, but was in a box labeled "12BY7' and ?? it had same form factor as 12BY7. * About 5 seconds after turning heaters on, smoke appeared. Specific location of smoke source was not obvious. * Turned unit off immediately after seeing smoke. (Maybe about two seconds worth of smoke) *? Replacement tube was apparently NOT a 12BY7!! * Upon extensive visual inspection, I cannot see ANY fried, melted, cracked, blackened, ?? or otherwise damaged components or wiring. Everything all *looks* normal. *? Unit still receives perfectly fine, but... *? Will not key the relays when PTT or MOX is activated. Stays in RCV mode. I'm wondering if I can get some help with trying to figure out what got damaged and what I should do to troubleshoot and get this thing back working. Any help appreciated... 73's Mike KD7VRG |
