Yaesu FT-1000MP (plain version) Repair Question
My beloved Yaesu FT-1000MP (the plain version, not a MkV or Field version) has suddenly developed a problem. The faceplate momentary contact "button" that transfers the VFO-A signal to VFO-B does not operate when I push it in. The button next to it that alternates the frequency from VFO-A to VFO-B and vice versa works fine. I do not hear a relay "click" then I push the VFO-A to VFO-B button like I do with the VFO-A alternating VFO-B button on the faceplate. I've done a factory reset a few times, inspected the radio's chassis, wiring, circuit boards and all looks fine. No smoke, crackles, sizzles, etc. I'm far from a repair expert regarding issue like this and would appreciate any help offered. Tnx, 73, Bill / w0bp

Atlas Antenna Issue
2
I have been using an Atlas screw type antenna for several years with my FT-857D mobile. Recently the antenna has failed to tune and when I push the tune button I only get a beep. I have tried two different mobile radios and atlas antennas. The radios are set to Atlas HF & 50. The voltage is showing 13.5 volts. Any information will be appreciated.

FTM-350
I just picked up a second hand FTM-350, with APRS and the GPS module installed. Hoping someone can help or at least offer some insight. I know this is an older, discontinued radio. For whatever reason, it seems I don't have dual receive capability. Both left and right receive work, but only on whatever one is the main (as indicated by the triangle). Sub-band mute is off. APRS modem is off. I've gone through the manual but haven't seen anything that seemed relevant. Was I reading the specs on this radio wrong and it doesn't actually have dual receivers? Perhaps I just need to perform a factory reset.

G2700-SDX pinout vs. G2800-DXA
Hi all, I have a G2700-SDX in great condition, but the direction indicator no longer works on the control box. The rotor turns full CW/CCW but without the indicator I can't tell where. The plug on the motor is a 6pin, and the 2800 successor rotor now has a 7pin. Does anyone know if a controller from a 2800 or 1000 can be wired for the older 2700 (a comparison document made by Yaesu lists the 2800 and 1000 features as being shared). An email to Yaesu service in CA yielded nothing....they said they have no info on the 2700 (as if it were made by someone else). Any help appreciated. Idiom Press makes a board that gives the 2700SDX digital functionality, but it's not clear if the problem in the controller goes beyond a bad indicator. Possibly an RT-21 would work also, but trying to avoid that expense. 73 Darrell AB2E Rigs: FTDX-9000D, FTDX-9000C (100% upgrade to D with all options installed)

Adjustment / Calibration Procedure Documentation (Yaesu )
Hello Members - Why do I see that Yaesu uses a paragraph style, individual step by step documentation style for their Adjustment / Calibration procedures ( ie. FT-767GX and FT1000(d) , others ) ? Whereas, Kenwood and several other transceiver manufacturers use a Table or Spreadsheet style format for their units Adjustment / Calibration procedures. The Table format style appears much more appealing and easier to work with to self. Has anyone here attempted to convert the Yaesu Calibration/Adjustment paragraph's to a Spreadsheet or Table format or know of where to find a similar conversion ?

ft-50r power button
2
I have acquired a Yaesu ft-50r. It will not power on. If I pull the main board out and attach a power source I move a piece of metal across the wires on the motherboard and start the radio. Then moving the wire across the switch will not turn the radio off.If I quickly reassemble the radio and attach the battery, the radio will still be on. I can transmit, it receives. I can alter the squelch level ( I broke the speaker leads when I pulled the boar, so I can't hear the radio at the moment). If I then push the power switch, the radio will turn off, but I cannot turn it back on. I have seen this problem addressed in some very old posts using a circuit writer pen to coat the bottom of the switch. I am not sure if the entire bottom gets coated or only a portion. Has anyone heard of this problem with the 50r and if so, how it was fixed? Thanks -- Rick, KK4GGL

FT-1000 no TX between 7.5 & 14.5 mhz
3
Hi I received this TRX a few days ago and during the first tests I realized that it doesn't work in TX in the spectrum section as mentioned in the object. They practically remain uncovered the 30 and 20 meter bands, on the others bands apparently OK. For example, up to 14500 khz it does not transmit, from 14501 it transmits. Have you had any experience with this issue? Thank you

FT-80r Questions
7
I have acquired an FT-80r. The battery (FNB-41xh Ni_MH)is dead (measured with a multi-meter). The charger that came with it is an NC-60B (for Ni-CD). The charger tested as putting out the specified voltage/amperage. I have DLed the manual. the NC-60B is mentioned, as are Ni-CD batteries. Ni-MH aren't mentioned anywhere. Anyone know if I should be able to power up the radio with the charger plugged in, but no battery. Is it OK to charge Ni-MH batteries with the NC-60B Ni-CD charger? Any ideas on how I might power up the radio without a battery? Any and all help appreciated.

Yaesu DMU-2000 help
I recently picked up a DMU-2000 to go along with my FT-2000D. When I connected it, I found that the 2023 CMOS battery was completely dead which cleared any BIOS settings in the DMU. I replaced the 2023, was able to get the time to stay correct, but the DMU still will not boot. It displays the two horizontal bars from the OS boot process, but instead of the main DMU screen appearing, it instead turns itself back off. I believe that possibly one of the BIOS settings needs to be changed so that the boot process will complete, but can't figure out which. The ham that sold it to me claims that it was in fact working when he sold it to me, but I'm not getting very far with that. thanks in advance Dave, N2EPV
