DR5000 - throttle apps compatible with its WiFi
I know the Z21 app works (and I've used it) but I'm not clear about other apps.
From digging around it seems apps such as WiThrottle or Engine Driver need to go through JMRI or something like a LNWI module connected via the DR5000's LocoNet.
?
Is this correct? |
Re: Short Circuits on Layout with several YD7403 Boosters
开云体育I suggest that the setting you want to change is the GPON/GPOFF to stop it forwarding short circuit events over LocoNet. I am not sure whether no highlight means it isn’t sent or it is sent, best to try both ?, though I think that it should be OFF i.e. not highlighted in green. ? You also want to enable Auto Retry after Short/Overload. ? Iain Morrison 07767 456746 ? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Oldngrey via groups.io

? Thanks for responding Iain, Did you mean the Button Action menu? It defaults to "Power On/Off Global", so could you mean "Power On/Off Local"? (I can't test that for a few days unfortunately) The only other option that looks promising is the Track Output menu where it has some Short Circuit options but none look specific to a global reaction to a short. ? I take your point on the turnout control YD8116s being fed from the Track Output of the YD7001 as an accessory bus. I did consider that and will probably do it now. Thanks.? In that case would you still have separate power supplies for each YD8116 or loop the power input pins to the signal input as is shown in the quick start guide? It would save a little money and let the YD8116 rectify some of the track power to power the module. |

Re: Short Circuits on Layout with several YD7403 Boosters
开云体育You need to change the options within the booster and tell it not to forward the short to the command station. You can change the actions in the track power options. ? I would also feed the turnouts directly from the YD7001 as an accessory bus and would not feed any track from the YD7001, only feeding track from a YD7403 which would ensure you can always operate the accessories, even when there is a short of the track. ? Sent: 04 March 2025 07:17 To: [email protected] Subject: Short Circuits on Layout with several YD7403 Boosters ? My apologies if this has already been answered. I have several YD7403 boosters connected via Loconet B to my YD7001 Command Station. They work fine but I would prefer a short circuit somewhere on a track to only shut off the booster with the fault. As it is now, all boosters shut off and all tracks are powered off. I also use YD8116s to operate my switch machines. They receive their commands from the track, and so when the boosters have shut down the tracks I also lose the ability to change any turnouts until I clear the short. ? So the question is: is there a config somewhere that will allow the layout to power up with all boosters active BUT NOT shut off all boosters when there is a short. ? |

Re: Z21 and s88 yd6o16es modules
just wondering is the yd7010 much different to the DR500/YD9401? a i was thinking would using the yd7010 would solve my?problem with the cobalts losing their addresses as this problem only occurs when the cobalts are coupled to a DR5000/YD9401 thanks Alan On Fri, Feb 7, 2025 at 5:37?PM karst.drenth via <karst.drenth=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: YD6016ES-CS N gauge current detction
As long as you motors or wagons are drawing more than 2mA the you will have zero issues, especially given that the YD6016xx is sensitive to less than 2mA. If the wagons do not have anything drawing power eg lights then they will not show occupancy. It will actually work if you simply stick a damp finger across the track - which is easy on 9mm gauge track ? I bought a 8 relay module thinking this would work, but I can't seem to figure out how to wire it given the switched output of the DR4024.There are variations with these modules including operating voltage and trigger - many are just Lo others are either Hi or Lo by jumper. Note you need to set the trigger source jumper to use either the same as that driving the relay or an external source. I don't have DR4018 so I don't know what that device outputs.
However here's a guide which covers the the wiring, although in this case it's triggered by an Arduino

Hello, ?I installed YD9401 to my DR5000. ?Upgraded both DR5000 side Atmel FW and YD9401 ESP32 firmware, config program version YD_Config-build-72.exe.
WWW server doesn't work. ?The first page seems to open, but any click after that stops the whole device. ?Power off / Power on restarts. ?This happens both in Ethernet and WLAN side. Does anyone have any idea what to do? BR ? ? Antti |
Re: Z21 and s88 yd6o16es modules
开云体育Not certain, but you could add a second YD6016LN-CS which you connect via Loconet and split the YD6016ES-CS across the pair of them. ? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Alan Watt via groups.io

Re: Z21 and s88 yd6o16es modules
Best bet would be to but a YD6016LN-CS and connect it to the LocoNet on the Z21 black. You connect the ES modules into the LN Module Many Thanks Iain Morrison On Fri, 7 Feb 2025 at 12:17, Alan Watt via <overdenestation=[email protected]> wrote:
