Which Digikeijs products do I need ?
I wonder if you could please help me ? I have commenced construction of an HO North American railroad layout in my home. I am using Lenz DCC XpressNet for locomotive control, DCCconcepts for servo control of the turnouts (linked to the DCC), and Decoder Pro Panel Pro for the overall mimic, control and despatching of the railroad. I now wish to make a decision with regard to the block control and reverse loop control. A friend of mine suggested Digikeijs as a likely good supplier of this aspect. The layout will be on several levels connected by a helix (which I am constructing at the moment). I have attached a .pdf of the lower (staging) level of the layout and the first turn of the helix showing my intended detection blocks.
I think I require Digikeijs R4088LN-CS feedback modules (which operate 16 feedback (or block detections) each) - is that correct ? In addition the Block 1 on the attached .pdf (as you can clearly see) is a reversing Y - what Digikeijs product will I require here ? In addition please could you tell me (and I am not - yet :-) - an expert) what else I would require from the Digikeijs range to integrate block?detection (and probably other kinds of detection in the future) from Digikeijs with my Lenz DCC and Panel Pro ?? Probably a separate Loconet bus or the like connecting the Digikeijs products to my laptop running Panel Pro ?
Panel pro is already operating on my computer and communicating with my Lenz DCC system. I am not intending to use any form of automatic control of the locomotives/trains at this time.
I hope you can help me. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you very much for your help.
Cheers

Alastair, Yes, the DR4088LN-CS will work for your block control. The DR5013 DigiReverse will take care of the Y.? It also has block detection built in.? If you aren't using the DR5000 then you will need a LocoBuffer USB to make the connection to the PC. If you have any more questions please let me know. Ryan ??

A
I concur with Ryan - I feedback each point with 4088 - but that is personal preference?

JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
Hi. I'm looking at using Dijikeijs products with JMRI to control turnouts and signals on a new O-gauge layout. If I use a DR5000 with DR4024s to drive turnout servos (with DR4102s to handle frog polarity), does anybody know if a DR4024 will automatically feedback turnout closed/thrown status to JMRI? Ian

Re: JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
Ian,
Yes, the turnout status is controlled with a LT command.? This will reflect on your JMRI panel just like a Digitrax DS64 or any other LocoNet controlled device.??

Re: JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
DR4024 is a service controller only, no feedbacks included. You will need to use microswitches and a DR4088GS or opto to send the feedback

Re: JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
Ryan, I don’t think that the 4024 is actually providing feedback, it only reacts to the command sent and JMRI is inlyvchnaging only chaging the status based on the command sent to change the servo, there isn’t any actual feedback.
if the command is sent to the DR4024 then JMRI will show the point as thrown even there isn’t one there :)

Re: JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
Thanks for the replies. What I was trying to establish was what 'Feedback mode' would I be able to use when I configure a turnout in JMRI. Will a DR4024-controlled turnout allow me to use ONESENSOR or TWOSENSOR mode or can I only use the basic DIRECT mode. Here's the URL for the relevant JMRI documentation page...

Re: JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
I don’t actually know JMRI but going by other software you will be using direct mode as you not have any sensors unless you do the micro switch thing I describe earlier

Re: [Digikeijs], JMRI, Rocrail, Itrain, Walthers, Tortise, Cobalt,Switch Machine, Roco, Throttle JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
Ian,? yes you are correct.? If you need physical feedback from the turnout (to prove it actually moved), you would need a micro switch or something attached to the turnout that can trigger a sensor.? Otherwise just the basic direct setup will work and display turnout status in JMRI. ? Ryan ? Sent from for Windows 10 ?

Re: [Digikeijs], JMRI, Rocrail, Itrain, Walthers, Tortise, Cobalt,Switch Machine, Roco, Throttle JMRI and DR4024 turnout status
Thanks for clarifying things. I thought I'd read somewhere that some servo controllers (I think it was ESU's) do provide feedback without additional microswitches and I was wondering whether the DR4024 had a similar capability but you've confirmed it doesn't.
?
Out of interest, do you have any advice for ensuring physical turnout status and JMRI's perceived turnout status are synchronised when a layout is powered up? Would a JMRI start-up script that moves every turnout to, say, its 'closed' position achieve that?

Hi I have just obtained a dr5000 unit and set it up a cording to instructions. However, when trying to connect any of my android drvices (phone and tablet) I cannot connect to the x22 app. My devices are showing as connected to the Dr,5000 WiFi but I can't connect.

OK let me get up to speed on your issue.
1. When you connect your phone to the WiFI what is your connection name?
Resolved; need a firmware update.

Hello I’m new to digikeijs! I have questions I can’t figure out! For now one. Why when I try to program a DR 5033 to I get a timed out? George

Greeting and welcome to our website.
- Tell us what procedure you are using to program the DR5033?
- What do you want to change?
- How do you have it connected?

Ok? I have already programmed an address no problem! I’m trying to Configure CV3! I get it all finished with a value of 10 and hit the lightning bolt to program and it starts an the I get a red time out!
