Thread exception attempting to run YD9401
Shortly after I open the app, I get this exception:
?
?
This is on Windows 11. All attempts to r]use the app result in a "click" and no response. When I click on "OK", the app closes. The same result if I run the app with no connection to the command station (other than network). I have successfully run it on a Windows 10 system though.

Re: upgraded DR5000 to YD7001 throttle issue
Thanks for the thread, it appears there was no resolution to the issue. I figured quickly that after acquiring the locomotive I was able to use the 602D wirelessly for control. Seems like a conflict somewhere in a hidden piece of code. Do you know if YaMoRC is aware of the issue?? |

Lower this setting: (POM packet repeat count)

Re: Programmer Busy reading CVs with Ops mode over Railcom with YD9401
开云体育Scott, ? There are many factors that can impact the speed of reading when using PoM, amongst them being how busy the track is i.e. how many other locos are present, with special consideration as to how many are running. The make of decoders also has an effect as some report faster than others, and I have seen the weight and quality of wiring used affect the reporting on layouts. ? I know that the first and second can impact the reliability because using iTrain to read all CVs using PoM can occasionally cause a CV or two to fail to read if there are a large number of trains running, and stopping everything will result in all CVs being read in a couple of seconds with 100% success. I also notice that the 2 x TCS decoders have more failures in reading than Zimo decoders. ? Iain Morrison ? ? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Scott Walton via groups.io

Re: upgraded DR5000 to YD7001 throttle issue
I think this is the same as previously discussed. A search in this forum for DT602D found this thread:
?
I don't think the DR5000 was mentioned though.
?
This won't help at all, but if you plug in to acquire, you can go wireless to control the loco. I learned that later. |

Re: Can the YD7001 be used for setting CVs on accessories ?
开云体育Jay, ? Just select the Loco PoM or Accessory PoM radio button on the YD7001 programming interface, enter the address for the device, the CV number and then the value. ? You will need to try both as some people set them as accessory decoder devices (the correct way), but some will make them act like loco decoders ? ? Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
Whist iTrain can calculate the train length placing resisting axles at the back of trains lets iTrain see the back of the train - especially useful for reversing or if you lose part of the train because it will keep the block(s) occupied until you ‘find’ the back of the train again. Many Thanks Iain Morrison On Thu, 20 Mar 2025 at 13:11, alanmayfield via <alanmayfield=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
The resistor axles have no impact upon Railcom and simply provide occupancy for the wagon. FYI Railcom has nothing to do with occupancy, it is simply reporting the details from the decoder. The actual occupation comes from the current draw by the locomotive (or wagon). Many Thanks Iain Morrison On Thu, 20 Mar 2025 at 12:17, alanmayfield via <alanmayfield=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Resistor for block detection, best size?
I use iTrain with DR5088RC but don't have axle detection for wagons.? I can understand how resistors would work for current detection, I don't understand how they work with Railcom as resistors are passive devices and Railcom requires a locomotive/wagon DCC address to work. Can someone please clarify for me. |
upgraded DR5000 to YD7001 throttle issue
I recently upgraded my DR5000 to a YD7001. Everything went according to plan and I now have WIFI working. I use Digitrax DT602D throttles and a Digitrax UR93 radio. The problem is that I now have to plug in to aquire or MU a loco. It is not working via the radio as it did with the DR5000. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, did you resolve it and how?? ? Thank you in advance for any help.

Re: Mounting the YD6940

Thanks for the suggestion. I dunno why I didn't think of zip ties on mounts before.?
On order now.

Re: Mounting the YD6940
I use the small zip tie mounts that I screw to the bottom of the baseboards and then use zip ties to hold them up. The mounts come with sticky tape but I use the screw hole. Mike?

Mounting the YD6940
I have been using the YD6940 3 to 2 wire adapter to power my Tortoise switch machines with the YD8116.
They work well electrically, but I would like some advice on how to best mount the things rather than leave them to dangle in the air.
There are no mounting holes and so something either has to hold it down or use a hot glue gun on it if that's advisable.
I tried some double sided sticky 3M disks but they don't stick very well at all. All of them have come off the mounting board since the wires to the switch machines are relatively heavy wire.

Any ideas? |
Re: DR5000 help needed
开云体育HiThanks. ?This worked though I had to do it a few times, trying each of the other protocols before going back to Z21. ? My DR5000 had XpressNet LAN LocoNet over TCP/IP LBServer Dr.Command LocoNet over TCP/IP Binary Z21/WLANMaus Since the “LocoNet over TCP/IP Binary” was the closest to your directions I did that first but it did not seem to work. ?I tried Dr.Command and then the LocoNet/Binary again without success. ?I then tried Xpressnet and back to Z21 using your instructions, rebooting between changes, and it started to work. ?Not sure what was up but I am in business again. The two Z21 apps I have work as does my test app I was working on a few years ago. ?So Thanks a million. ?I appreciate it. ?I have not tried my HW WLANmaus yet as they are packed away in a box somewhere. I also got word that the YD9401 replacement module has shipped so hopefully soon I’ll have it upgraded. ?I eventually plan on getting the YD7010 and also command stations from other manufacturers (real Z21, the TCS LCC thing, the N American ESU thing, a Digitrax, and the NCE/WiThrottle bridge, as I want to test my eventual app I am working on with as many command stations as possible, trying to make it protocol agnostic as much as possible. ?Eventually I’d like to to become a complete control system with autonomous action etc but I am starting with a throttle and then expanding from there to work with controls, have a library of stuff, etc. ?While I will put it on the App Store and sell it, my goal is really for my own use and satisfaction. ? Again, thanks for the help! Chad

Re: DR5000 help needed
Hi,
Resetting the RM04 module caused the evil. Now the DR5000 and the module disagree about which protocol is to be used. ( because of the factory reset ) Fix: 1. Set the Protocol to TCP/IP Binary, 2. save, 3. reboot the DR5000 ( power off power on ) 4. Set the Protocol to Z21 5. save 6. reboot the DR5000 ( power off power on )? All should be well right now.
