Re: De sensitise DR4088LN-CS inputs.

Does the YaMoRC version of the DR4088CS, the?, solve the issue of needing to add the 500 ohm resistors between the output and common, or do you still need to adjust the sensitivity of the detection circuits?

Re: DR4088CS | Max distance from Track/Feeder

I have just used the ones I have had lying around when helping people, I think that they would be 470 ohms and 1/2 watt.

Many Thanks

What wattage resistor should I use? [edit: I just found the photos from Ryan showing a .5 watt resistor at 470 ohm. So I will start there with a similar setup and see how it goes.]

Aside, I am planning to add a MQTT Relay to each output of the DR4088 to control the track power for each output. I am very. curious whether this is going to mess up the detection. I am planning to use these,

Thanks

Re: DR4088CS | Max distance from Track/Feeder

Experience with several layouts (and commonly reported here) is that 22awg which is the same CSA as 7/0.2 (which ?is what we would use in Europe) wire will cause phantom occupancy with a DR4088 if the feedback wires are close together and/or with long runs. The cure is to use shunt resistors of ~500¦¸ between the feedback terminal on the DR4088 and the C terminal for that feedback, or use heavier gauge wire with better insulation.

Subject: YaMoRC, Digikeijs, JMRI, English DR4088CS | Max distance from Track/Feeder

?

Hello,

Is there a max distance for optimal detection when using a DR4088CS?

I have three areas where the DR4088CS are all within 3-4' of the planned track/feeder locations.
But there is one location where the track/feeders will be around 6'-8' from the DR4088CS.

Any recommendation on the wiring to reduce any issues with detection??

I am planning 22awg wire from the track to the DR4088CS. I will install the DR4088CS in the center of each section to keep wiring as short as possible.
There are two sides on a DR4088CS, 1-8 and 9-16. Should I wire the longest sections to one side and the shortest sections to the other side? Or am I within a distance that will not matter?

Any tips/pointer would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Difference between DR5000 and YD9401

Thanks for the information and will try to see if I can change the line end styles,? I am using loconet between the YD9401 and RocRail may try a different protocol maybe Z21

Re: Difference between DR5000 and YD9401

I don't know the answer to your problem Thomas, But, a question that comes to mind is whether you get this delay when you use the Yamorc supplied GUI to command the turnout to switch?? If there is no delay there, then clearly there is some kind of delay in communications over the API from RocRail to Yamorc - rather than some newly introduced issue on the DCC side of things.

?

From your description it does sound like a comms thing involving line end styles (CR, LF characters or some combination thereof) and that the receiving end is getting the commands but NOT seeing a valid terminator for each one. In such a case? commands will accumulate in a receive buffer and the receiver might only action them when the buffer overflows. If you can find configuration variable on both sides and see if you can play around with the line-end styles (typically CR+LF or just CR or sometimes NUL characters are used as line ends) you might get to a fix for this.

Difference between DR5000 and YD9401

It appears that when I upgraded the DR5000 with the YD9401 turn out response has changed. Prior to the upgrade the turn outs responded almost instantly and there never was any delay on sending the command.? I use RocRail for my layout software and the icon changes on the track plan but then it may take 20-30 seconds before the turn out actually responds.? Also if a number of turn out commands are sent they appear to buffer and will wait for awhile and then process all of them at once.? I use ESU switch controllers to actuate the actual turn out.? The commands are sent via DCC.

Again the only thing that changed was the upgrade to the DR5000.? I am assuming its a timing setting someware but have not found it.

Any guidence would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thomas?

Re: YD7001 LAN Connection

The Loconet over LAN is via the Z21 interface. I have used it with the DR5000, and a third party product StaRFIshRail. That was with TC9, I haven¡¯t upgraded to TC10 or tried TC9 with my YD7001.

Do not mistake LBServer for Binary... iTrain runs Binary, TC and JMRI the out of date old LBServer !!

Re: YD7001 LAN Connection

I note that the default port for Loconet LBServer is described in JMRI as
being 1234.

If TC does not have the ability to change the TCP port and is hard-coded to
use the default then perhaps changing the TCP port on the DR5000/YD7001 to
1234 might allow Loconet connection between TC and the DR5000/YD7001?
