Re: DR4088CS | Max distance from Track/Feeder

Experience with several layouts (and commonly reported here) is that 22awg which is the same CSA as 7/0.2 (which ?is what we would use in Europe) wire will cause phantom occupancy with a DR4088 if the feedback wires are close together and/or with long runs. The cure is to use shunt resistors of ~500¦¸ between the feedback terminal on the DR4088 and the C terminal for that feedback, or use heavier gauge wire with better insulation.

?

Hello,

Is there a max distance for optimal detection when using a DR4088CS?

I have three areas where the DR4088CS are all within 3-4' of the planned track/feeder locations.
But there is one location where the track/feeders will be around 6'-8' from the DR4088CS.

Any recommendation on the wiring to reduce any issues with detection??

I am planning 22awg wire from the track to the DR4088CS. I will install the DR4088CS in the center of each section to keep wiring as short as possible.
There are two sides on a DR4088CS, 1-8 and 9-16. Should I wire the longest sections to one side and the shortest sections to the other side? Or am I within a distance that will not matter?

Any tips/pointer would be appreciated.

Thanks
