I am using 12VDC on the DR4018? for my N-Scale turnouts and they work just fine. Per Digikeijs manual: Maximum load per output is 2 amps, total output is 3 amps max. 12-18V DC *Recommendation min.

Easy to find inexpensive 120 VAC to 12 VDC 5A power supplies (price $11 to $20 US).? Conversely AC power supplies are more difficult find.? After alot of searching I found one that is 120VAC to 12

The DR4018 only uses DC, If you connect an AC power source to the DR4018 it converts it to DC power. The "Preset 0" gives you a pulse output to activate the coils. Been using Atlas switch machines

Careful, If you are using Altas switch machines they require AC power not DC.
