Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
It will probably take you about one hour to remove everything and have the tanks lying on the ground

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
How involved is it to remove my oem fuel tank and fully clean it out?
do i just undo the velcro at the bottom of the fuselage to get to all fastening straps, or will it require more

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
My light yellow tanks started blistering so I took them out fabricated aluminum tanks and solve my problem.

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
Not everyone has a Jabiru engine fitted,?? The Rotax prefers car fuel.
Either way, the fuel tank in the X-Air aircraft is just vinyl ester resins and they are affected eventually by fuels of any

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
Wouldn’t it be safest just to use only 100 all fuel only, after you have thoroughly cleaned your tank?
Mogas has to be carefully sampled every time to ensure No ethanol, which is the problem for

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
Very interesting and valuable information, as usual Michael.
I will keep my eye out.
I noticed my gascolator valve leaking today.
My tank has been completely dry for 3 months. I just put fresh fuel

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
It honestly depends on the fuel and the additives that are used locally when it is produced.....?? Fuel is not fuel any more..........
I have seen some excessive fuel tanks deteriorate in as little

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
Yes sir - you are bang on.
So what do I do?
Replacing the tank is out of the question for me.
Do I simply and constantly clean the fuel filter every 10hours?

Re: X Air Hawk fuel tank 'shedding' particles into fuel
My XAir tank was whitish, I only used 100 LL , and I never had any debris issues in the Gascolator.

Re: Asi and Vsi and altimeter on X Air Hanuman
You should find the static port on the instrument has just not been connected, and the static port vents into the cockpit area.
Just do not breathe too heavily! (Sorry, not one of my better

This sounds correct, you can actually leave the static port open behind the instrument panel because it is not going to make that much difference the speed you will be flying especially with the

Asi and Vsi and altimeter on X Air Hanuman
Excuse my ignorance, but all VSI have a static port, subsequently having a line/hose going from the indicator to somewhere inside or outside the cabin of the plane?
I can't find where my static port

Re: X Air Hanuman bungee cord rear landing gear and sail cloth
The owner who built my X Air had 12mm bungee cords on all 4 attachment points - all of which had different measurements! Some cords were 50 inches long while others were 44 inches long. That's why the
