Hi, on the X5105 is there any way to do a "factory reset" ?, or should I go back to a previous version of FW ?. The system menu only reaches 13, I don't have 22 mentioned in manuals. Cesar CD7CKU 73

Who sells microphones for x5105s?

Im new to the X5105 and QRP. I picked it up the other day a d a radio flea. Seems to work perfectly. Made a contact in Norway, 3349 miles with 5 watts antenna was a dipole. The issue im having is, it seems to have the original firmware. When trying to update, the docs i found says to plug in the power while holding in up/down, DATA light should come on and it does. Then, plug in the serial cable into CIV port and connect with teraterm, set port to 115200 and the hit spacebar and menu should come up. No menu ever comes up. Also when plugging in the usb cable, the display on the radio is supposed to say something about erasing the radio., This does not happen either. So i can't seem to connect to the radio. Tried multiple cables. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My radio's microphone (both the one on the radio and the hand mic) is not working. I bought the radio from MFJ and they don't support it anymore. I spoke to Radioodity and they say it needs to be sent back to China. Does anyone know of a US-based service center?

As has been previously observed, the CWDEM feature (V3.0 firmware) is a bit hit and miss when compared with other decoders (EG Morse Expert on Android) and certainly poorly documented. To ensure that I am using it to its full capability, could somebody please help me with the following (basic !) questions. When in DIGI-CWDEM mode; 1) What exactly is the frequency spectrum display portraying and how should I use it to assist me optimising CW signal detection ? 2) How should I best adjust the Tone setting (which seems to give me an operating range between 425 - 1200 Hz) to optimise signal detection; where do I position the arrow w.r.t. the signal peak and what is a sensible default value ? 3) How should I best use the Threshold setting when a signal is detected to optimise decoding - again what is a sensible default value ? 4) How do I use the DSP-FLT to maximise CW signal detection - what are sensible working settings ? 73 Brian 2W0OXE

Noted that while charging the speaker is on!. It sounds like the rig is receiving. No station just a background noise. Is this normal??

Is there a definitive list of X5105 V3.00 Build 8 firmware known issues and feature omissions ? Much hype about the 6100 I fear is distracting Xiegu from finishing the radio I bought preventing users from getting the most out of their original investment. Reinstatement of the CTCSS capability for repeater access (also not available within 6100 ??) would be one for the list along with single button Message launch for differing messages (like the original RE1,RE2 & RE3 feature). Last May, I spent a month in Englewood, Florida 34224, grid EN63va77nq, running my X5105 at 2 watts output to a Butternut HF6V. The antenna has had 17 meters added, and has a poor ground radial setup. But it's only about 4 miles east of salt water, so it seems to be a good location. I ran FT8 a lot of nights, when I couldn't sleep, and also some daytimes. I managed to work quite a few countries and a lot of states, even Hawaii. This was using a "homebrew" digital audio adapter, comprised of a small USB hub, with a cheap, small USB sound card and USB-to-serial board, all held inside an old candy tin box (4 x 5 x 2 inches). The serial board does the RX/TX data and the RTS line controls the PTT. Another group user had the same problem I had, with making the 8-pin DIN plug fit into the radio socket, but mine was pretty easy to trim off the interfering plastic. I logged 221 QSOs during that month in Englewood, and I plan to do more from there this winter. I will have my X5105, and an IC706MkII (which I run at about 12 watts). Hi All! As I can read, more and more users will upgrade from X5105 to the X6100 when it will be available. As I own a IC-705 for shack operation I'm looking for a X5105 for field ops. Hello everybody! I”m using a X5105 + XPA 125 B solid state amplifier, and I work exclusively in digital modes. Since I had the X5105 and the CE 19 expansion port without the amplifier, with the correct settings of the transceiver and PC, I managed to make a lot of QSO”s all over Europe and not only, even Oman (4450 km), Iceland ( 4000km ) and so on. Since I inserted the XPA125B in the chain things have changed. It seems that almost nobody can copy me. I have to mention that everything is working OK, the SWR is OK, no protection on XPA is acting, but I noticed that the ALC level for input is max. 1W Seems that modulation passes through the amplifier, and the output power varies between 80 and 90 W, but I didn”t get any response from nobody. Can anybody tell me how the ALC level can be adjusted? Thanks!

Has anyone set up the 5105 with HRD?? Any hints before I try?

My X5105 worked well for a few months. But all of a sudden the second multifunction button from left is no longer responding to pressing. No response sound click and no response at all. Anybody had a similar problem and what is the best course of action, being out of warranty?

Can anybody tell me their experiences with the usdr usdx ham radio?
