I was able to access the instructions using that archived link. It didn't work from my iPad but once I got home to my computer, it works fine. Thank you Matt and everyone else for your help.

I'd say the foot "loop" is definitely bent: here's a pic of mine... which I don't believe is bent!? I tried to photograph it from the same angle, etc...

It's possible that your side stand may be slightly bent from someone sitting on the bike on the side stanford mounting the bike when it's on the stand. That's all I can think of... Sorry, wish I could
