Remember that the W is a machine, it is not a Honda appliance..there will be whirls and whistles, and a clunk every now and then..this bike has character, and it just may take a character to own

My Ninja 600 was pretty bad about the clutch sticking on first start of the day, my cure was, put the bike in first gear, then start it, with the clutch in of course..it might be just a little more

All the Ws were left hand shift, as most Japanese bikes have been.
Some, like the Bridgestone GTX 350, or the Yamaha XS 750 had the gear shift shaft go out on both sides though, so they could go

A lot of wet clutches "stick" when starting up. Start up with the clutch
lever pulled in, and as others have said engage first with the brake on.

Make sure the shift lever in snug on the shaft. These bikes have a
pretty long throw and if the lever is loose you can have problems with
getting a positive gear change.
