All the Ws were left hand shift, as most Japanese bikes have been.
Some, like the Bridgestone GTX 350, or the Yamaha XS 750 had the gear shift shaft go out on both sides though, so they could go either way.

Speaking of Dover - a friend asked if all the Dubs were left-side shift and
