Re: Question regarding Progressive Suspension 412 rear shock bushing dimensions
Update: Turns out the label on the box was incorrect, they'd sent me shocks for a Harley. The fitment notes were tucked inside the warranty so I missed them, but a call to Progressive told me what the numbers for the correct set of adapters should have been. ?
Unfortunately both Progressive and PartsGiant, the merchant from which I'd bought them, were out of stock on the 412-4205C shocks. I'm going to get a refund. So I'm trying yet another online shop, Speed Addicts. |

I used pvc pipe, my springs came with directions of how to determine length. Washer on top of spring and top of spacer as I recall On Thu, Aug 10, 2023, 6:33 PM Tom Herling <thomasjherling@...> wrote: I'd searched the forum for information regarding Progressive Suspension 412 shocks for the W650 but I couldn't find any mention of problems with the size of the bushings they come with.? |

Have you tried contacting Progressive Suspension to ask the question ???? I gave them a call years ago about another fitment problem on a different bike and they willingly gave me the information over the phone.

I don't want to cut them off to find the stock bushing don't fit in case I need to return them for a correct size.? I've put in a request from the shop I bought them from, which guaranteed they'd fit, but I figure I might get a quicker answer here about our particular bike's specs.? |

My 2000 W650 for Sale at Santa Clara Cycle Accessories, California
Ron Graf
I was going to sell my Honda CX650 Turbo, but decided to keep it, yet room for only three motorcycles in my garage, so I'm parting with my W. The link to the add description and video is below, but I'll reiterate some key points here. ?First of all,? you're not going to see a nicer looking w650. It has polished wheels, stainless steel spokes, all aluminum engine components are polished. I replaced the rear fender with the Kawasaki OEM updated reinforced fender. Steering damper. LED headlight. Hagon shocks. Tour Master saddlebags. Dynojet stage 2 jet kit, which really improved the cold starting and low speed throttle responsiveness. Aftermarket exhaust, which really adds a bark over the stock exhaust. ?The odometer reads 4,956 miles, but actual mileage is 12,150 miles, because the reset button broke early on and was replaced under warranty. All documentation, with mileage at replacement, is provided with the bike, and is currently with Santa Clara cycle accessories. The gas tank knee pads were replaced with the later, larger ones, and the stock saddle was replaced with the later, more comfortable one. Your choice on the saddle, if you want the original one, which sits about an inch taller, you can have that one instead of the stepped saddle shown in the ad. Ron See the ad and video here: |

Re: In 2023 what is the best tire for our W650?
So, I picked up a nail and had to replace my tires. I have had Michelin Road Classics for like 500 miles. These run so smooth and quiet, even at 80mph! I feel I sit a little taller with these vs. Pirelli Sport Demon tires, which is fine. Now, I cannot attest to how hard you can corner on these since I now live with wide, flat terrain but the few curves I could find these handled fine, no issues at all. On highways with uneven pavement or rough spots, these track straight and zero wobble at higher speeds.?
Braking feels smooth but cannot attest to any wet weather performance, refuse to ride in rain. I am hoping these go 9,000 mi and I'd be so happy if they lasted 10k mi. The FB W group said these can last quite awhile and perform admirably in tough conditions. Michelin themselves recommended rear tire pressure at 36 PSI, feels great but I am sure many will disagree and think that sounds high. Nothing feels tough or uncomfortable to me. |
Considering buying a 2001 W650-Green
I¡¯ve always like the look and sound of the ?W650 and now I have an opportunity to pick one up. The bike is owned by a good friend that stopped riding about 5 years ago. It has not been started in at least 15 years. The tank still has that ancient gas in it. It¡¯s been kept in a garage and covered, but somehow has collected some dark funk all over it. Seems like some kind of mold. So I¡¯m wondering what a reasonable offer would be, considering: I¡¯m not wanting to fully restore it, but just get it running and cleaned up.?
