Re: No trace on Tek 465 follow-up.
Hello all, well, I finally made some progress here. I was lucky enough to be able to receive a replacement HV multiplier from Sphere (Thank you Walter!) and installed it today. I don't have the

Re: Adding options to TDS scopes
Options like the hard drive and video trigger don't require activation, but I don't think you will get option 2M just by adding the hard drive. Option 2M always came with a hard drive, but you could

Re: Tektronix scopes free
Greetings, The term "lockup" must have a much different meaning in the UK than in the USA! I assume that all the American readers equate "lockup" to internment in a jail or prison and I'm certain

Re: Tek 310 HV transformer
Ed, Yes. From zero to about mid intensity, the plate (and grid) swing increases slightly, while the screen voltage goes from about 85 to 105V (far too high). At that point the regulation circuit goes

Re: TM506, TM506A or TM5006?
Hey y'all, I found a TM506 (with a DM 502A) going for cheap - and with reasonable shipping - on eBay, so I got one of those. Given the glowing recommendations they've seen here for use-in-anger, I

Re: Introducing myself
Jerry, Nice words for a new comer. I agree with everything you said. I really loved this group until Yahoo changed the interface. I'm trying to use it in spite of itself. --Victor

7603 horizontal fault
Hi all, My trusty 7603 developed a fault yesterday while I was using it, and I fear that a Tek special IC has expired. Until yesterday morning it was working perfectly. I looked away to do something

Re: Adding options to TDS scopes
Jay, Thanks I did not know the scope actually had the hardware already installed, memory. What if I installed the 2M option board, i.e. the PCMCIA HDD board. Does that still require

Re: Adding options to TDS scopes
Hi Victor, Yes, they are stored in the DS1486 chip. All the 700 series that I've dealt with can do option 1M, but you have to have the right memory chips if you want to enable 2M. For the 784D

Re: TDS3054B Noisy encoders on V & H Scales
Patrick, I did check the bandwidth with my SG5030 and the TDS3054B easily exceeded the limite of 550MHz of the SG5030. I have other generators but I didn't actually try them yet. I am in Taiwan

Re: Help with a R7903
Dennis, That is the answer that I was hoping for!! The donor board also has a bad connector and I know that some of the pins are damaged on that board. The donor scope also has other problems

Re: Help with a R7903
Hi Paull, Yes the nylon housing can be replaced without removing all the pins, and it is (compared to all the other ugly things I mentioned) not too hard to do. Although, since you have a spare 7103

Adding options to TDS scopes
I know some of the options in the TDS models (specifically 784D) are just software locks, but do the hardware based options also require unlocking? For example 1M, 2M? Thanks, Victor

Hi Paull, This is bad news. First you would need to get hold of those pins and another plastic housing. I don't know of any source for the pins. The housings can be found much easier. Second, you
