Re: Tek 455 Advice Please [3 Attachments]
The regulated +32 volt supply should have much lower ripple than that. Even if your ESR meter is reliable, ESR is not the whole story since the capacitance could be low. Given the age of the

Re: Tek 455 Advice Please [3 Attachments]
If that is the ripple on the regulated outputs, I would replace the caps. Especially the one on the +32 regulated supply as it is also the reference for the +5 supply. It looks like the calibration

7854 Quick Reference Cards
The 7854 has a set of four plastic quick-reference "cards" stored in a plastic housing on the top left of the instrument. Mine have all of the protruding tabs broken off, the tabs that show what each

Tek 455 Advice Please
I have a TEK 455 that a friend gave to me and it has an issue with the trace poor geometry. In XY mode, the trace is oblong and out of focus. I suspected possible PS filter issues so I measure the

Re: Tektronix 2710 Spectrum Analyzer Unable to Coun t (VCO,IF)
Hi! Glad I can help :-) PSU The PSU problem You have is the same as mine. The display is pulseing and is not stable. If You connect an oscilloscope to the +115 test point You will see huge ripple

Re: Dallas Chips and battery backup
Jay, Can you elaborate on how you know the DS1556 will work in the TDS700 series of scopes? Have you tried it? This doesn't make any sense because the memory map is completely different for a

067-0532-00 Leveling head problem. Resonance?
Some time ago I reported that this 65-500 MHz GR-based oscillator had a nice flat frequency response. But at present the output amplitude is about 10% too high in a small region around 465 MHz. When I

Re: Need advice on 2465A trig. config
The Scope probe is a Tek 10X fixed, 500Mhz BW, and it seemed to report exactly the voltage seen by the ADC based on what the PIC reports on the LCD. I have used the Tek scope data to create a

OT: Yahoo Groups question
Hi guys, I've been asked to set up a mailing list. My first thought was the highly acclaimed Yahoo Groups which served us so dear and well over the years. One would want to be able to migrate away at

Re: Tektronix 2710 Spectrum Analyzer Unable to Coun t (VCO,IF)
Thanks, now that I know the front panel response is slow I will look elsewhere (CFC). The rotary encoder has issues, you can barely get it to work. I also think that the microprocessor may

Need advice on 2465A trig. config
Hi all: I have a waveform (5 V logic) driving a 16 x 2 LCD from a PIC Mcu. 3 of the data lines switch to become analog ADC inputs between sequential LCD character refreshes. The ADC sampling happens

Re: TDS3054B Noisy encoders on V & H Scales
Congrats, Victor. I'd be interested in hearing the actual vertical channel bandwidth you measure on the TDS3054B and see how it compares to the 500 MHz spec. I've measured ~500MHz on my

Well the front panel buttons are stiff. And delayed Just as the rotary encoder. You have to operate it very slowly... It is normal in 2710. Your uC board is rather Ok.I would Look into cfc. Kuba 22

For a Counter / Timer in a scope: Some scopes have a buffered channel output on the back. That lets one use a FET probe t look at small RF signals. Then pipe the output to a regular counter. I also
