Some scopes have a buffered channel output on the back. That lets one use a FET probe t look at small RF signals. Then pipe the output to a regular counter.

I also like my 11302A Timer Counter scope. It gives a frequency readout on the screen that gains digits when you plug in an external timebase.? Frequency measurements at 8 or 9 digits are useless without an oven or better oscillator.
