I don't know the full answer, but the nearest I can think of quickly is that some (or all?) of the 7000-series timebase plugins limit the beam current at slow sweep speeds to prevent CRT burn. That's kind of a sweep-speed-dependent intensity control, but definitely not a comprehensive one.
