I had numerous problems?with my ELT going off and with discussions with the ELT vendor it was determined to be spacing between my ELT and transponder. I had to have a minimum of 2 feet. This includes coax and antennas.?
I have the ACK model E-04 ELT and a Trig TT22 transponder.
I finally had to mount the ELT in the baggage?compartment and the transponder?back near the tail. ELT antenna is under the baggage?compartment and the transponder antenna is at the rear of the plane.?
Sounds stupid but I don't have the ELT kicking off anymore and getting phone calls from the satellite monitoring folks asking if I am still around.?

Be aware of any ¡°legal requirements¡± specified by the Mfr or TSO if you decide to deviate.? Some ELT¡¯s I¡¯ve installed had some very specific mounting requirements for the box itself and the antenna - the latter usually on the outside of the OML, to the rear and upper surface, and vertically oriented.? While it¡¯s unlikely that you will get ramp checked, it¡¯s always good to have an answer at the ready if you are questioned
