Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
All, I assume the proximity sensor that I am looking for should be an inductive type. There are NPN normally open, NPN normally closed, PNP normally open, and PNP normally closed options. Can

Re: VW Grounds
One of my life lessons about driving a VW is if it's electrical and having a problem, add a ground. It worked on the 84 VW with the small starter when I put the Subie 2.2 in. Rob vwrobb@...

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
Scott, I had a similar issue with my 2.5 L installation. When I would hit 65 mph the engine would shut off ten seconds then later kickback in. It was like on, off, on, off, on, off. It would continue

VW Grounds
Apologies for stretching the vanagon/subie connection but it arises from the ox2 sensor/hp oil sensor work-around. Does anyone have an understanding of the reasoning for VW's theory on automotive

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
Very bad noise. Sounds like a death rattle. Wish I could help but this is way beyond my pay grade. I know how frustrating this must be.

Re: Yellow wire from T14/12
My question is poorly articulated. In Brent's instructions: T14/12-Y and T14/14-Bl/Bk wires run directly to the respective sensors (o2 mileage and oil hp) with the yellow oil hp controlled by the

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
Anyone know of a source for this style sensor replacement? I remember years ago someone sending a link of sensors on eBay for around $15. I believe it is just some kind of proximity sensor. Thank

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
All, After disconnecting the Blue signal wire from the VSS and I started the van, it idled correctly. Then I hooked up the scanner and verified that the ecu was registering 0mph. I connected

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
Engine ground to the intake manifold? This is where the ECU gets its ground. ECU can do weird things so I've read. I had an extra ground from the harness to the chassis near my ECU.

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
All, There are no green plugs connected together. This is not a new project. I converted this van about 8 years ago and it ran well for years. I had this happen to me last year with the same

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
Green test connectors are disconnected? 158 mph doesn't sound right. What VSS is it? Neutral switch to the ECU is grounded?

Re: HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
Another thing I noticed was the evap codes and cat codes were present at the side of the road and I did not clear them. I came home and rescanned the codes and a misfire, throttle position, and turbo

HELP!! Pulsing engine and no power under load
I have an intermittent problem that leaves me with getting the Van towed. 82 Westy diesel 2001 Subaru Outback limited automatic intake on EJ253 engine Van drove good for about 5 miles then started

Re: Yellow wire from T14/12
It's the connection from the HP oil pressure sender on the WBX engine to the Dynamic Oil Pressure Monitoring System embedded in the speedometer housing. It must be grounded to prevent flashing OIL

Re: Yellow wire from T14/12
Brent, Yes, I have those instructions but I'm still confused. Am I correct in thinking the (cut at T14/12) yellow wire at B/21 is a ground with a signal from the ECU? I spliced a LED light for codes

Re: 30 amp fuse blows at high temp
in general, this is a difficult tradeoff. In this case, the additional fuse panel for battery distribution makes sense. I was horrified to see how many devices vw connected directly to the battery
