like a bit tighter than a spark plug ( many people don't install spark
plugs tight enough in my experience...
they should be around 26 ft lbs ) ..

Subaru oil filter, 8 ounces up here. Its a bit of an issue for me, in that

I have used the thermal plate out of a Volvo 740 turbo and plumed the external oil cooler. The thermal plate bolts up were the stock subaru water/oil cooler sits. It opens at 95c and cools the oil.

A very similar issue with my ej 22 and I spent a great deal of time going through different pieces from MAF to spark plugs etc.
Final solution was simple.
Cleaned the main connection of the engine
