Re: Warren¡¯s Conversion
My engine is from an automatic but I¡¯m installing it in a manual transmission Vanagon. ?Just by chance I ordered the kit with the oil pump that would accept the timing belt guard, which I needed.

I watched the video after I said that so I think you were correct in hind sight at least according to him. I would never get the aftermarket tensioner myself, but the rest of the pulleys are indeed

Re: Warren¡¯s Conversion
Thank you John. I probably misspoke. I think the video mentioned that the cogged pulley was the most common ¡°pulley¡± to fail. But of course, when it fails it will likely ruin the timing belt as

Re: Warren¡¯s Conversion
Here¡¯s a link to a good video on the value of an oil catch can. My engine was really dirty inside and out and the intake manifold was filled with carbon-like nastiness so I¡¯m hoping the oil catch

With all due respect the most common failure would be the belt itself, followed by the tensioner, followed by the cogged pulley. And yes why green ? I consider Japan made Aisin oem in my head.

I am definitely going to include one of those Evil Energy oil catch cans when I install my engine. Interestingly, on Amazon someone mentions that some of the black ones are inferior (cannot use the

Mrsubaru1387 on YouTube only uses the Aisin kit because all the components are OEM. As a former Subaru tech he seems to know what he¡¯s doing. ?Now he¡¯s a YouTube guy with 420,000 subscribers. And

He is asking about the green one in this photo. It is Aisin, which makes the components for Subaru, Toyota, and others. I¡¯m not sure about why it is green?? But I have read (or saw a video) that

Re: Warren¡¯s Conversion
What is this green cogged pulley on an Aisin kit? What is the brand? Is it still 'double bearing' like I believe the black colored pulley was?

Re: Subaru Wiring conversion
Problem solved.
Turns out it was a DRL resistor and an AT resistor. No wires going to intake manifold.
Thanks

I mounted mine on the Right side firewall near the D pillar opening. Long hose runs but it worked.

Subaru Wiring conversion
Hello,
I'm currently working on a harness conversion from a 2004 Impreza, EJ25 SOHC, gong into a '91 Vanagon.
As I was cleaning up the wiring harness, I came across some cut wires, that were leading

Look at catch cans on Amazon and you¡¯ll see them, and then look up Subaru catch cans on YouTube. Mostly guys put them on the turbo 2.5 but you could use them on the NA. You¡¯d plumb it after the

Re: Warren¡¯s Conversion
It's not a filter, it's an oil/water separator. Looking at your pic it looks like the PCV is on top of the stack coming from the block. I take it this then connects to the intake manifold. The catch
