My engine is from an automatic but I’m installing it in a manual transmission Vanagon. ?Just by chance I ordered the kit with the oil pump that would accept the timing belt guard, which I needed. ?I found the guard online (OEM) and installed it. ?Since it mounts in a curved configuration it was difficult to establish the gap. ?So I used some thin cardboard bits and pieces from a component box to equal 1.5mm and used those stacked up as a spacer.
