Hi folks, Sharing this below, along with the advice I posted. One thing about ff.net being so old is that many author's with beloved works, likely have forgotten they even have stuff there. Or that people still read that stuff. If I had access to the site, <I do not> and I am guessing private communication still works? I would reach out to every writer on your favorites and follow lists, encouraging them to move their stuff, while sharing just why you love their stories. Might solve some silent mysteries, even result in some writers returning to unfinished gems. I am posting this a day early because I want to make sure it gets out in plenty of time since things have been rather chaotic this year. I hope you all have a peaceful and safe Veteran's Day tomorrow. ** Veteran's day message for Nov 11, 2022. Hello everyone, Today is Veteran's Day in America and has also been known as Armistice Day in America and Europe for over 100 years now. This is the day that we, the people of America, remember and honor those who have stood up and put their lives at risk to protect us all from those who would harm or kill us every day that they served. Those groups of people I include in the groups worthy of the greatest honors for standing in defense of this country and other nations as well are the members of all branches the Military (the Army, the Air Force, the Space Force, the Navy and the Marines) , the National Guard for each state, as well as the Police, Firemen and members of the EMS. All of you who have served or are currently serving to me are worthy of the highest respect, because I KNOW that every day you put your uniform on and went about doing your duty, you willingly putting your lives at risk to keep all of us safe and I am VERY thankful to all of you for being willing to do so. If you have served and retired from your former duty as a Protector of us all, please know that you have my deepest gratitude and thanks for what you have done for us.. If you are still serving in the reserves I also thank you for being willing to continue do what is needed to keep us all safe in such dangerous times. Hi folks, Fully realizing how some feel about WBWL works, I recommend one that is amazing in both the storytelling, and how it absolutely does not fit the mold...at all. May I recommend, Genius Fratris by alonelysock Summary: Only two people know what happened the night John Potter became the Boy-Who-Lived: Lord Voldemort and Harry Potter. And neither of them are talking. Here harry and his little brother, no twins here, grow up with James having Sirius and Remus around as supportive uncle figures. Because of the traumatic event though, for a while, harry does not talk, still has problems when he gets stressed. What makes this work well is how, because of the age difference, harry has a chance to become his own person, with a supportive over protective family, making friends from all houses...he is in Cedric's year here. We get better drawn Slytherings, actually better drawn everyone in that year, Katie bell for example. We have younger brother in book Harry's year, with book Harry's situations..or sort of. None of this arrogant evil brother stuff, no Dursley's at all either..Harry's struggles are different, as are his successes. Give it a chapter or two, I feel some here will be quite pleased. To be honest I haven't seen that one, My favourite (unfinished) is Dark Trio on AO3 by Nothan123. Warning It is very dark and has a lot of James/Lily bashing.

Just read this from Mr Pi on ffn 22nd of September, 2022 - No update right now, but a quick note: This site appears to be on its last legs, from what I can make out. There are quite a few parts of it that aren't working now, such as story statistics and notifications of PMs. I suspect that these may well not be fixed in a timely manner, or possibly at all, since it appears that the site owners have largely abandoned the site. Clearly this is annoying on a number of levels, but it can't be helped. I just wanted to say that I'll continue to update my stories here for as long as possible, but if this place finally falls over completely and irretrievably, I also post on AO3, as well as Sufficient Velocity and (with the exception of Taylor Varga), on Spacebattles. So should this come about, look there for my work :) I would advise that anyone who has favorite stories here, especially ones that are nowhere else and not likely to be duplicated elsewhere for any reason, to download and save them just in case. There are tools on the web to allow this to be done reasonably easily. I would recommend fichub dot net as it seems to work well. Anyway, that was all I wanted to say right now. I'll be back with more words in the near future...

And for those who like double spaces between paragraphs and quotes, you can load the html version, then insert space, select all, copy, then paste in wherever you read. Katy

Hi techno wonders. Have a heart brother turning 40, and they are only *cough* partakers of non-standard music media. No cd player, or turntable, only playlists. They use Android. My question is this. Anyone know of a way to generate a music playlist, happy to buy the files, that does not involve either YouTube, or spotify, and can be shared with an android user? Was listening to my radio and the news station announced that Queen Elizabeth II has passed on to Heaven. That is a very sad piece of news, but I hope that God by what ever name you may call him or her will give those members of this group peace and comfort as they deal with this. I know she is now in a good place in heaven. I hope her family will be given comfort by God and peace in know that she is safe with him. Corwalch
