Chapter 15 Update 5
Just a quick note: Chapter 15 has been edited and is going through the final read-through now. It should be up soon. Oh, and we were only slightly less evil with this chapter than we were with the last. :D We hope everyone enjoys it. ~Alyx~

Chapter 15 4
Gripping, riveting, amusing - and that was just the disclaimer. So I ask myself, SELF... Why would Dumbledore want to keep the DE Jrs in the school??? Potter has surely pointed them out. Snape knows who they are. This is surprising to me, especially in light that there have been two attempted murders. I never really considered who planted the spider before. At this point, I don't think it was Ron or Dumbledore, rather a student placing one of the Gryffindors under imperius. Yet there was no on screen scene with Dumbledore contemplating who did it. The second question that I'm asking myself is, as of chapter 15, who is on Dumbledore's side? The ministry seems to be distancing themselves from him, as do the interesting professors. The last question that I have is, using the analogy of the pretty girl going back to the cabin in the slasher movies(where everyone knows the killer is lurking), why would Harry and friends stay in school? They obviously have better things to do, and could just stage an argument or something to get expelled if they didn't want people to really know what they were up to. Two final comments – You two are the best. Finally thanks for busting Filch's arse. It's about time that that creepy perv met his maker. Hopefully each of the students will pour a bottle of the finest butterbeer on his grave, after they have first filtered it through their kidneys. Now, back to my own story. I have work for you two. The two H/G stories you wrote 9
I've been re-reading them, and I've come to a very interesting realisation: Ginny isn't really all that likeable until after the stupid mistake in Spiritus. (It's amazing the things you realise as you reread a story. The things you don't really note the first time through.) She reminds me a lot of Cenedra in the Belgariad. She's not the spoiled brat that Cenedra was, but she has her moments. Bat Bogeys for Harry being in the same room as her? Her double standard was something else that got to me. When the Teen Witch Weekly came out with that article, she publicly claimed Harry as hers, but when Harry defends her and her family and claims her as his, she goes up one side of him and down the other. Make up your mind, girl! I think what really bothered me about both stories (and I'm pretty sure you've read a different version of this over on Abraxan's list) is the way that relationship changing things happened in both of your stories, and they were completely dealt with in the very same chapter. Once she apologised to him in DA, everything was fine for them - no echoes of hurt later in the story (admittedly, there was only that chapter and the Epilogue), but there was no sign of it in SC. Then she breaks the engagement, and in that same chapter, DD whips out his wand and solves the problem for them. Other than to give Ginny the chance to grow up a little, there was no real need for that to have happened. For that matter, Harry and Ginny forgave the Weasley brothers awfully fast for that "prank" that they pulled in SC. Given his self esteem issues, that should have been hitting him in that chapter and for chapters to come, because I could very easily see Harry coming to the conclusion that since they were fighting so hard to keep him from proposing, that the Weasley boys didn't want him as a family member. And to be honest, he should have been finding ways to prevent Ron and Hermione from being together, at least for a little while. The prank wouldn't necessarily have driven it home, but being on the receiving end of what he did to them would certainly have made the point. I realise that this may come across as a flame, and that certainly isn't the intention I had. All of us are growing as writers, and sometimes we need an outside view. I enjoy the stories immensely (have them on my PDA in MobiPocket format, in fact) and love to reread them. Hell, the fact that I am bothered by certain things to this level tells me how good you are - if you weren't good, I wouldn't care about the way that the characters act. Keith

Chapter 15 4
Do You Prefer Spoiler Space? Or Can We Just Jump In With Comments? Excellent chapter as usual! I love your action scenes. I'm wondering if the attempt on Snape could actually be considered just a "warning". Given how physically tough wizards are (e.g., Neville falling quite a distance in SS and only getting a broken wrist) it's possible that Snape would have been expected to survive a fall like that with some painful injuries to get the point across - then he'd be jumping at shadows for a while until one of the shadows finally jumped at *him*. The DEs want him to *know* what's coming - killing him fast with the first attempt would not satisfy their sadistic tendencies. Poor Mrs. Norris! I hope she manages to find a new person. (Any chance of a Crookshanks/Mrs. Norris pairing? And kittens?) Really minor nitpick: "Her parents were laying on the floor covered in blood." They were "lying" on the floor, not "laying." "Laying" is the act of putting something down; once it's down, it remains "lying" there. I do love the way people are actually PAYING ATTENTION to Luna! In too many fics, she just wanders around saying insightful stuff and nobody pays attention because she's weird. Of course, she's just a little more focused than usual here. Does Harry know how to Vanish (as opposed to Banish) things yet? If so, he should set up a Vanishing location of, say, the bottom of the Marianas Trench, and Vanish things like Howlers, DE's wands and things there. Hell, Vanish the DE's themselves! Feed 'em to a kraken! (Vanishing is a potentially lethal spell; wonder why nobody uses it that way?) Keep up the good work! I'm waiting eagerly for next week's chapter! Dorothy

Chapter 15
He called them Mum and Dad. *awwww* The rescue of Dan and Emma was really well written and a good ride. Harry needs a white horse. Will Dumbledore ever get a clue? Advanced dueling? With Snape? It could have been fun. Ah the path not taken... I don't think I have ever seen Filch killed off. Refreshing and fun at the same time. (What is wrong with me?) I have a bad feeling Harry may take the blame for that one. I think Nott was lucky. Harry could have snapped his other wand. Luna is fast becoming a favorite character of mine. She was one of the few in HBP that was on target. The quidditch match was one of my favorite parts of the book. Her telling Hermione that she is being mean for teasing Harry shows that the lights are on and someone is home. She just doesn't answer the door too often. Thanks for a great chapter. SoB Ch.15: Beware a Stampeding Horde of Scotsmen... (Spoilers) 6
[See subject line] B u t f i r s t s o m e s p o i l e r s p a c e Why are you up for being trampled by a bunch of irate Scots (and a few Welsh and Irish, for good measure)? Because you commit Clueless Yank Mistake no. 4621: Obsession with England, as follows: Her Majesty may be the second of her reign-name ro reign over England and Wales, but she's also Elizabeth I of Scotland. More to the point, she was crowned as Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, not "Queen of England," a title that hasn't existed by itself since at least 1707, and quite probably centuries earlier if we're getting picky (remember Wales and Ireland?). remain in England during World War II [...] the throne for nearly fifty years, sir. When my time comes, I will die on the throne, in England, not fleeing from the danger that now threatens my country." [...] < Lese majeste, you Colonial upstart! <j/k> But seriously, I can't imagine the Queen talking about England like that. She is very conscious that she is Queen of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland -- not to mention those parts of the Commonwealth which formally recognise her as Sovereign, like Australia. She would talk about Britain, not England, and would no more ignore the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish than you will be able to ignore the boots of the aforementioned stampeding horde when they read this chapter. Easiest way I know to insult a Scotsman is to say that Scotland is part of England; that's like saying that New York, Hawaii, Florida and Alaska are all part of California. You have been warned... ;-) the tour begins, perhaps you and his Royal Highness should retire to Balmoral Castle," he said, closing his eyes in defeat. In his mind, he was already thinking about the possibilities of rescuing them from Balmoral. < You do realise that Balmoral is in Scotland, don't you? Apart from the geography errors, the chapter is a lot of fun, and things are obviously coming to a climax. Shame Snivellus didn't get his, but we can but hope that they'll do better next time. Also hope for lots of Slythergit-bashing, as we can't have too much of it. Phil, British Isles mongrel (English, Scottish, Welsh _and_ Irish ancestors) and proud of it!

Hagrid 5
Hey! First off, I think Sunset over Britain's a great fic, but I have one question. What happened to Hagrid? I don't recall reading a thing about him, and seeing as he is so loyal to Dumbledore but likes Harry, I was hoping that it would have been an issue in the story. Explanation? Thanks! -Shoshana

Bob, I don't know if you were planning for this, but I think it would be funny to see how Dumbledork reacts when the next 1/4 comes up and he find no money inside any of Harry's vaults. Just a suggestion I think you might like. William
