In canon perhaps this is true, but I seriously doubt the power he
knows not is love. If that is the case, then Harry blew it by kicking
Ginny to the curb. In our story its NOT love. :D
It's the power to shift Europe 20ft to the left after ten minutes of
effort? *grins brightly* I'm classing him in the 'britain needs to be
sunk for about fifteen minutes, give me an hour' class of power

Harry's "the power the dark lord knows not" is generally thought to be
his love for others. This appears to have been discounted by his
action to Ginny at the end of HBP; unless she can knock some sense
into him that is.

Maybe, instead, it is his compassion for others, which is very
similar, but perhaps more wide-spread in its definition. This would
then allow for Wormtail to have a more prominent role in the final
showdown, and would also give a chance for his life-debt to be repaid.
I couldn't say what it will be in canon. Personally I think JKR hosed
the prophecy when she invented the horcrux idea. I don't think its
really valid anymore, but it's her story and she can make up any
excuse to make it seem like the prophecy was still valid at the time
that Harry kills, or is killed by Voldemort.

possibly where JKR is
going.)

Another interpretation is that Voldemort and Harry
were equals in some
way on that night, and that can (and probably has)
change at anytime
afterwards at any scale. The prophecy *doesn't*
say they *meet* as
equals, and if they were to, by equal, it could
not be in every way
because of Harry's Power, friends, etc... The most
obvious aspect they
could be equal in is magical strength, but it
could be anything else.
And if one looks at the prophecy another way, they
need never be
equals at all.
You can twist the prophecy in a dozen different
ways. Heck, you can
even make a case that HBP threw the whole prophecy
out the window. Its
all a matter of personal interpertation.

Personally in canon I think the horcrux concept
ruined the prophecy.
Not there is no "power he knows not". Find
horcruxes, destroy them.
Nice power there Harry. :)

I think that Harry will need that "Power the dark lord
knows not" to take out the final piece of Tom's soul.
The other horcruxes will be destroyed by then, and it
will be up to Harry and tom to slug it out. That's the
point "the power he knows not" will come into play.

True, one can ASSUME anything, but I want to see Minerva and
Flitwick's outrage at what DD and Snape have done. Especially
the "kidnapping" just done by Snape. What will Tonk's do when she
finds this out. Come on Bob and Alyx, inquiring minds (aka nosy

Re: Dumbledore's army

There are some authors that can make almost any ship readable and
believable. It'll be interesting to see who Harry gets paired with
when Sunset and its sequel are finished.

Excellent well-written stories with very agressive posting
schedules. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I must not be a rabid H/Hr then - I think that they are the
perfect couple, rather than her being half of the Bicker Twins.

But I loved Dumbledore's Army and Spiritus Crystallus. It's what
made me decide to read Sunset and join this group.

Did that make any sense? *laugh*

two stories.

For that matter - when you're done with a given story, would you
complain if I converted them into MobiPocket files for PDA? I own
the Creator software for it, and am converting my own stories over. (Did it for Refiner's Fire as well - 10,346 pages on the LifeDrive.

As for the story, I loved certain references - Abraxan liver and Old
Crows feet? (I admit that the conversation between Dan and Harry
was reminiscent of a certain beach scene - without the crying.)

Leia ended up with Han (Ron) and not Luke (Harry) and Darth (Snape or Dumbie) was Luke's father.

Ch 12 Review

For

a

I can't remember the last time I lughed, cried, ranted, and made
obscene gestures at the computer so much as I did reading this
chapter. What a marvelous piece of work Bob and Alyx. Yes, hate to
admit it but a couple of scenes did put tears in my eyes. Between you
and Abraxan, I'm not sure but I think it's a plot to ruin my
big-tough-rambunctios-guy's-guy image. But that's okay, I'll get my
revenge in the end; just you wait!

On a lighter note, I wanted to compliment you on your inventive
revenge on Ab by using her as a potion ingreient. I laughed heartily
throughout that scene. Your drunk Harry was just about the best one
I've seen yet with his magic doing odd things and all.

Wonderful chapter folks, and as always I look forward to dreading #13.
I'm not triskadekaphobic, so no problem here.

Vern, still giggling over drunk Harry lol

Depends on whether he gets that statement to Amelia before DD realizes
there's something going on. If Arthur has any sense at all, he
submitted his statement immediately after talking to his children.

If the house is part of his family heritage, he should evict Molly,
take custody of Ginny for himself (which he can then delegate to Bill),
and let Molly keep Ron. (Sorry, my work history in family law is
showing...)

LOL! I know the scene you're talking about. To be honest your scene
might have had some influence on what I was writing, but my intent was
to (a) keep Harry off balance and (b) drinking in that scene. It
