ADOPTED - DEMPSEY - SV CROSS MALE - PORT ALLEN, LA

ADOPTED - DEMPSEY - SV CROSS MALE - PORT ALLEN, LA
?
Dempsey is ~8 months old Savannah cross male. He got his name for his McDreamy eyes and soulful way of regarding you and his new world. He's shy but learning to love his new way of life. He has been neutered and vaccinated.
?
"He is kind of shy, but loves attention once he realizes you're not there to scare him. He's learning that being held is a good thing, and he's enjoying it. I think he and Blue were housed together. They seem to stick together and both were timid around people when they first arrived. They are both coming out of their shells and are loving the attention. "
?
We would love Dempsey and Blue to go to a home together as they have stayed close to each other in the foster home and seem quite bonded. They can however be separated for the right homes, but we likely would prefer a home that would take them both.
?
Like Blue, being on the shy side means no small children and the activity/noise that has to be part of that home. A smaller pet household would have the best chance of brining these boys around.
?
If interested in Dempsey, please email info@... and tell us about your home, included where you are located. A home needs to be within driving distance of Port Allen, LA. His adoption fee is $150.

ADOPTED - BLUE - SV CROSS MALE - PORT ALLEN, LA
?
Blue is a ~8month old blue marbled tabby Savannah cross male kitten. He has been vaccinated and neutered and is perfect with the litterbox.
?
"He takes a little time to warm up. He's a timid guy, but very sweet, and purrs away when you pet him. Likes to sit on your lap or next to you."
?
Blue has been learning in foster care, how nice humans can be and how much he likes that. He's warming up steadily, but a new home should expect to be patient to continue this good progress.
?
Blue is bonded to Dempsey, so we would love to place them together.
?
Due to Blue's timid nature, we do not think a home with small children would be a good fit, there's just a noise level inescapable with that household. Blue is good with other kind kitties, and probably would learn to get along with well-behaved dogs and older children. A smaller pet household would have the best chance of bringing Blue out of his shell.
?
If interested in Blue please email info@... and tell us about your home, included where you are located. A home needs to be within driving distance of Port Allen, LA. His adoption fee is $150.

ADOPTED - SIX SAVANNAH CROSS MALE KITTENS - PORT ALLEN, LA

ADOPTED - SIX SAVANNAH CROSS MALE KITTENS - PORT ALLEN, LA
There will be six individual posts about these kittens, as they all deserve their own home. There are two somewhat bonded pairs in there, we will favor homes that would want to take those together.
In recent weeks, we were forwarded a post by Point Coupee Parish Animal Services in LA with a group of six Savannah cross kittens, four were ~5 months old and two were 7-8 months old. Seems it was a failed byb who had a unneutered Savannah male and thought he could set up as a breeder with domestic shorthair females. Then found out he wasn't much of a breeder as he dumped them at the shelter.
A very kind local breeder offered to take them in with no hesitation, committing to getting them vaccinated and altered and socialized. Turns out socialization wasn't the huge challenge expected, they are all sweet kittens. A few are a little shy but they have come such a long way being treated with love and kindness. They enjoy petting, some love to be held and they are all learning how to play with cat toys. They all will be great pets for the right home.
It seems this byb was not cut out to be a bonafide breeder, it's harder than expected and more time and expense than expected. These kittens have been saved by a good breeder and will be adopted out by a rescue team that includes a number of good breeders. We take care of our breed.
Please look out for the coming six individual posts of the kittens. Email us at info@... if interested in one or more of the kittens with information about your location and a description of the home you are offering. Please specify by name which kitten you are most interested in, even if you would be interested in all it just helps us decide on where to place them. They will be available for $150 to help cover vet costs, if you take two bonded kittens there will be a discount of course. Driving distance to Port Allen is needed, the foster will drive a few hours towards you if that helps them find the right home.

Chaka is a beautiful boy, who has spent most of his life in a cage through no fault of his own. He is allowed out in the owner's enclosed porch for a few hours a day and then caged the rest of the time indoors. Please no comments about this...
?
Chaka has a tendency to eat or chew inanimate objects and as a result has had surgery for an obstruction. He may have Pica, which can be treated and any owner would have to be very careful and mindful of this. Our thinking is once he is played with and given the attention he deserves, he may stop eating things he shouldn't. He is also on a Hills Science diet due to an animal communicator telling the owner he may have bladder issues, however there is no medical evidence of this. A different diet may very well help with his pica.
?
Chaka is a big boy and his owner describes him as aggressive...he will grab whatever she has in her hands, especially if it is food, through the bars on his cage. He uses his claws, so his claws will have to be kept short. In time, he may learn that he doesn't have to use his claws to get attention. He likely craves attention and/or is hungry. He will need to be resocialized though. We find allowing cats to chew on a chicken leg or raw chunks of meat, help with those who chew or eat things.
?
What we are looking for in a home:
?
1. We are looking for an owner who has lots of love, patience and time to give to Chaka. He will need to be resocialized.?
2. You MUST have experience with early generation savannahs?
3. NO shipping or long drives
4. You MUST have a room for Chaka to decompress and stay in, so he can acclimate to his new surroundings
5. An outside space for him to enjoy, if possible?
6. Willingness to work with him and gain his trust - it may take a long time?
7. No other cats - a dog may be ok after a while proper introduction
8. Chaka has not been around children - so no children please
9. Adoption fee is $250
?
If interested in Chaka, Please email info@... with how your home is appropriate and your experience with EG savannahs.

For Adoption - F6 Amari - Six months old

For Adoption - Amari - Spayed F6 - Six Month old Savannah Female - Knoxville TN?

Long - please read?

?

Amari is a six month old savannah mix who was hit by a car in KY and left to die in the road. A really great vet tech, stopped abd picked her up, taking her to work, where her injuries were too severe for them to deal with.

?

SV Rescue, the SV Cat Care Fund and you all stepped in and Amari was transported by a volunteer to the University of TN Veterinary Hospital, where she had surgery. She had an FHO, femoral head ostectomy, which is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip, by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone). She also had surgery on her shattered pelvis, pinning it back together.

?

Her foster has been wonderful and Amari has recovered well. Her foster helped Amari regain mobility. Amari can run, jump and play, although she has a shorter stride on one side. Amari is a baby still and about six pounds - she will small in stature, but big in heart and will.

?

Amari is described as follows - "Amari is absolutely the sweetest kitty.??We have been fostering her for about 2 months now.??She loves to play and she loves to snuggle next to you. She’s not fond of being picked up and held but that may be because of her hip injuries...One of our adult cats has been a bully to her and when he approaches she immediately lays down to show him she’s not a threat. She’s incredibly smart and has her people that she gravitates to.??She will follow you around and wants your attention when she’s not playing with her toys. She uses the litter box with no issues and eats well. She may well be the perfect little kitty."

?

We are looking for a local home - absolutely NO shipping or long travel - please do not ask!?

?

Older children ok - a couple of other pets ok...

?

Adoption fee - $150

Vita May - 3 year old F6 looking for a home in Kittanning PA

3 year old F6 Female - Kittanning, PA
Vita May is a 3 year old spayed female looking for a new home. Her family is moving and cannot take her with them. She is very friendly and outgoing. Likes to be petted on her terms, usually early morning or a night. She loves the family boxer and new daughter's puppy. Limited exposure to other cats. She has been around visiting children without issue. She is front paw declawed. Vita has occasionally urinated outside the box, always in the same spot. It will be important for her to be quarantined when she arrives to learn where the box is and become comfortable.
Ideal home would be a laid back home. Children over 6. A dog or two would be great as she likes to play!
Vita is not a fan of the cat carrier and is being treat trained now (hopefully) so that she can travel to her new home. Due to this stress, no shipping. Adoption Fee is $200.00
If you think you have the ideal home for Vita May, please email info@....

****Northeast Ohio.
Zsa Zsa is a beautiful 10 year old F4 female Savannah cat whose owner unexpectedly passed away

ADOPTED -DELILAH - F3 - CANYON LAKE, CA

THANKS TO THE HUNDREDS THAT EMAILED ABOUT DELILAH, THIS WAS ONE OF OUR MOST POPULAR CASES EVER. IT WAS A REALLY TOUGH DECISION BUT DELILAH WENT TO HER HOME IMMEDIATELY ON THE LUCKY HOME BEING NOTIFIED, THEY WERE SO EXCITED!

Delilah is an amazing 4.5 month old F3 spayed female Savannah kitten located in her foster home in Canyon Lake, CA. She was surrendered due to heartbreaking health issues with her owner, absolutely no fault of her cute self.
In her foster mom's words:
I am Delilah, the sweetest, spayed , 4 1/2 month F3 kitten. I have been in foster care for about 3 weeks. My foster mom says I am very stunning and full of energy. I don’t like being picked up for very long, but my mom has been working on that and I am improving. I am not a lap cat, however I love laying against you on the couch. I purr and roll over for belly rubs. I follow my mom everywhere , walking on her feet to make sure I am close and don’t loose sight of her. When cooking or doing chores, I am there, when you eat, I am there, basically I am hard to loose. My favorite past times are sleeping on the couch with moms resident cat and play a lot.
I am not use to dogs but would probably do okay. My ideal home would have another younger kitty for me to play with. I get along great with older cats, but my energy may be a bit much for some older cats. I also talk a lot and growl when I eat. Not Angrily, just cute. My mom pets me when I eat to ensure I am not food aggressive, and I am not. Overall I am the purrfect little handful. My mom says she’ll miss me lots, but is sure the purrfect home is out there for me.
I will not be shipped, so someone fairly close to Southern California will have to adopt me. There are no exceptions.
Her surrendering owner believes that Delilah NEEDS a home with a number of pre-teen children to play with her! This is SO unusual! A home that WANTS a number of 4-16 year old children who are available and willing to interact with Delilah! She needs people willing to play and interact continually through the day so he feels that would fulfil that need better than anything.
As has been mentioned, Delilah's perfect home would have children (!!), other pets and a lot of love. Her adoption fee will be $300.
She cannot be shipped as Delilah has demonstrated she intensely dislikes crates. This will also affect our decision on remote homes.
If you feel that Delilah is perfect for your home, email us at info@... with your location, a description of your household and why it is right for Delilah.

FOSTERED - FLASH - F5 - SUFFOLK, VA
?
Flash has great need of a patient home willing to rehabilitate him to being a pet!
?
Flash is a 5 year old F5 male, soon to be neutered on 7/30, after which he will be available. He was bred by Holly Tang of Tangidamondz in MD, who has been uncontactable.
?
Flash has lived for some years in deplorable conditions (not the enclosure in the pictures!), in a large dog crate indoors. The owner was persuaded to give him up to a wildlife rehabber who had a spare enclosure where he is right now. He is very shy, but when pet seems to enjoy it. He does not seem to understand play but has very much enjoyed a catnip toy he was recently given. It makes our hearts hurt to think of how deprived his life has been, and we very much want a home that will understand him and allow him to blossom.
?
From the little we have been told, in the former home he was confined to the crate for not getting along with the other cat and dog, but given he was an intact male (and hormones are strong motivators in cats causing assertiveness/aggression towards others) this isn't too surprising. Being neutered will have a calming effect. The person housing him right now says he has been religiously using his litterbox and has not sprayed.
?
We are willing to consider a foster home to be able to evaluate how he does in a home setting, and whether he might adapt to other pets. Given his recently neutered status, young children are not a good idea, and especially being a shy cat that level of activity might be too much for him. He likely would do best in a smaller quieter household with a human that is going to be around but give him space to learn to be a pet.
?
If you are willing to take on this project Flash, please email us at info@... and tell us your location and about your household and why it would suit Flash's needs. If adopted, his fee would be $200.

FOSTER NEEDED FOR 6 MO AMARI - KNOXVILLE, TN

AMARI IT IS - NOW WE NEED A FOSTER! KNOXVILLE TN?
?
Thank you to all who gave us ideas for names! Amari is a six month old savannah kitten found on the side of the road, after being struck by a car and left to die. We do not know her generation, but guesstimate a later gen, such as F5/F6.
?
She will need to be crated for a minimum of 4 weeks, while she recovers from extensive pelvic surgery with pins and femoral head resection. We are not sure of the extent yet as her surgery is tomorrow, 7/23/21. She will need to be taken back and forth to UT Knoxville, TN for appointments.
?
The veterinary staff is in love with her - they say she is very sweet, gives kisses and headbutts.
?
If you would like to foster Amari and are willing to make the commitment to caring for her, making sure she is crated and taken her to appointments, please email info@...

URGENT TRANSPORT NEEDED FROM SOMERSET KY TO KNOXVILLE TN

URGENT TRANSPORT NEEDED - PLEASE READ IN FULL
?
Hi everyone...we have an urgent need for transport from the Somerset, KY area to Knoxville TN! We have a young savannah cat that was hit by a car and left on the side of the road to die. A really great vet tech, stopped, picked her up and brought her in to the vet hospital she works, but they cannot do the surgery required, so this cat needs to be transported to UT in Knoxville. I believe it is approximately a 2-2.5 hour drive.
?
It is of the utmost importance that she gets to UT ASAP.
?
If you can help, please email info@... - thank you so much!?
?
SV Rescue has taken over ownership of this girl and we will post more about her as she will be up for adoption. However, getting her to UT is of utmost importance right now.

I'm so sorry all, this was not meant to go to the group. We try to work out if a home is a viable option, and I agree that it would be a squeeze to take a cat that size on a plane. If it is a short flight and to a perfect home then it is something to consider though.

Sincerely,

Brigitte

Yes, but are you going to rent a car at the airport to go fetch Rios? Have you considered taking a strange cat through security and keeping hold of him as he freaks out (he is reported to be a very stressed/anxious cat so this strange experience will be difficult for him) and then he is said to be a 14-15 lb cat so I am not sure how easy it is to cram into an airline approved carrier. Have you ever seen the size, the carrier has to fit in the space under the seat in front of you. Have you looked at flights to get you close to Leesburg, FL? Is there a direct flight or multiple flights?

Rios is an F2 from Savannah Pride (Victoria Johnsonbaugh), who will not be taking responsibility for her cat. The breeder insists that the owner pay for transport and the owner is surrendering due to financial woes. Hence Savannah Rescue must find Rios a home.
?
Rios is a nearly 7 years old neutered F2 Savannah, he had an anal prolapse as a kitten that surgery repaired and regular miralax has kept his poops regular. Unfortunately, it has seemed to have given him an aversion to pooping in the litterbox. He faithfully urinates in the litterbox, but usually poops beside it (has also been known to use rugs nearby).
?
The owner describes Rios as very much her cat and a cat that has always been nervous and easily stressed. She does not think he would be good in a house with children or dogs. She says that he has lived with other cats but has played too rough for them and so he ended up being a bully with them. She does think a similar energied cat or two might work though. The home does need to be quiet she feels, to reduce his anxiety and stress levels.
?
If you feel like your home would be great for Rios, please email info@... with a description of the factors that make your home right for him, and your location. We will not be able to offer shipping. Rios is not up to date with vaccinations, his adoption fee is $200 but we will reimburse for his first vet visit and FVRCP and Rabies vaccination.

FOSTERED - ELIAS - F1 - BEND, OR
?
Elias is a 10 year old declawed F1 Savannah currently in a shelter in Bend, OR and is very distressed about that environment. They would like our help finding him a good placement. (He is not available from the shelter, you must go through us.)
?
Elias is a large-ish cat at just over 17 lbs, and is very hissy/growly but tends to run away and has not bitten in the shelter. He is stressed and not handleable, which is completely understandable given his generation. This is a huge change and change is upsetting to an F1. Obviously a home needs to explain to us that they understand the specific challenges of an F1 Savannah.
?
Elias was surrendered with a Sphynx, and is known to come from a large pet household with a lot of cats and some dogs. He has however no past contact with children so we would not want a home with younger children (teens would be ok). He was bonded with the wife of the owner couple, who has died recently adding to Elias' distress.
?
We would of course prefer to find an adoptive home, but given the urgency of the situation a good foster home with a separate room and the understanding to work with Elias, that would also work. He is at a shelter, so there is no ability to arrange shipping. He is too large to fly in cabin and too distressed to be forced into a small airline-approved carrier. A home would need to be able to get to Bend, OR in a timely manner.
?
If you think that you can offer Elias the time and space he needs, please email info@... with your location and a description of your household and why you would be a good fit for Elias. His adoption fee would be $200, he has been vaccinated, wormed and flea treated in the shelter, but a complete examination has not been done due to his distress at the shelter environment.

Foster needed in Killian Texas!

We are looking for an immediate foster in Killeen Texas (Belle county allows w/permit). There is a F5 male, Joy, that has been wondering the neighborhood for the last few month. Some of the neighbors were able to scan him for a chip but when the owner was contacted, they said it was not their cat. Joy is very friendly. We don't know much about his needs at this point as he has been outside for many months on his own.
We need a home that has a space just for Joy so that he can adjust to being in a home and to help us evaluate his needs (and vet him). We feel one or two pets may be ok but would need to be introduced at a later time.
To foster/own a savannah in Texas you need to have a permit. In some counties, it is complete banned. Please check on and contact your local animal control regarding permit requirements.
If you have a spare bedroom and think your home would be a fit for Joy, please email us at info@....

PENDING - 8 YO F2 Male - MIAMI, FLORIDA area - PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST!!!

?

Falcon is a handsome F2 male, found living for over a month in a neighborhood and turned over to a TNVR group. He was declawed, neutered, with no microchip when found, in severe pain and in poor health with stomatitis.??Comments about declawing??not wanted or needed - he was found that way.

?

Falcon has been fostered over a month and is ready for a forever home. He is said to now be a healthy, loving, active F2 boy! He follows his foster mom around, snuggles under the covers and is always underfoot. He is wary of men though and a bit standoffish to them. That doesn't mean he can't be won over with love, kindness and patience. He Has been microchipped, vetted and is up to date on vaccines.

?

Falcon has excellent litterbox habits. He is a bit of a messy eater, but does well on Stella and Chews Freeze Dried Food...

?

Falcon should be ok with older children and perhaps a cat or dog...his only issue at this point is he door darts and escapes because the foster has workmen going in and out. This is something that a new owner will have to be careful of.?

?

If you would love to call this boy your own, please email info@.... Tell us why your home would be appropriate for this gorgeous guy and whether you have any savannah experience. He will need his own room initially to get acclimated and maybe one mellow cat or dog.?

Pet insurance for any cat is highly recommended! We would love to know if that is something a new owner will consider.

No shipping.

Adoption fee - $200

FOSTER NEEDED - 12 YO F2 MALE - LUXOR - PONTE VEDRA, FL

FOSTER NEEDED - 12 YO F2 MALE - LUXOR - PONTE VEDRA, FL
?
Luxor is a 12 year old F2 declawed neutered male Savannah. He's had some hardship in his life, he was found wandering the streets in Las Vegas nine years ago and was adopted by a home in PA. Since then, the owner has married, moved to Florida and had a human baby and the owners feel that Luxor's issues are too much for them now.
?
Luxor had had inappropriate urination episodes over the last 9 years, but it was resolvable by paying attention to his needs. The owners feel that having a number of large open litterboxes is necessary but not possible in their open plan house with a 2 year old child. Luxor has additionally been stressed by the recent death of his companion dog, that the owners told the vet had affected him significantly. Luxor has not lived with any other cats in the last 9 years (we don't know his life before he was found).
?
Luxor is a door darter, another reason the owners are finding it difficult to keep him. Please, no comments about the owners here, these things are only mentioned to give background to Luxor. The owners feel that a home with an enclosed outside area/catio would be ideal for Luxor.
?
Luxor is said to be a very sweet and affectionate cat who loves to play fetch with mice. He can play rough and likes to chase and pounce on things.
?
Why are we preferring a foster home at this time? Luxor has had some troubling liver values in recent years, and Savannah Rescue would prefer to have him have some further testing to gain insight into what is going on. This will require some vet visits and maybe some work on diet change to help Luxor. And of course working on the urination issue if it continues in a new environment.
?
If you have a spare room and the time/love/patience to help us help Luxor, please email us at info@... and tell us about you and your household including your location. Any foster home would of course have preference to adopt a fostered cat if it works out.
