FOSTERS NEEDED IN LAS VEGAS - LOTS OF THEM!! This is a really difficult situation, a breeder in Las Vegas has passed suddenly, and the family is unable to keep the cats.
We are waiting on specific information, but we believe that we are looking at >20 adult cats. I imagine that most are unaltered, hence we cannot adopt them out but need foster homes willing to get them to the vet for altering and then helping us with evaluations to be able to adopt them out. Of course, the foster home is always first in line to adopt a cat they are fostering, if the cat works out there. There may be some kittens there also, we simply don't have information on this yet.

****Dexter is waiting for that perfect home!
Dexter----so much more than a crime drama!
We have a large, young (4 years old) and very attractive F2 Savannah cat available in Lathrop, California (San Joaquin County). His name is Dexter. He is not a serial killer but he does have his secrets! After all, Dexter could also be code-word for "DEXTEROUS" !!
One of the unique attributes of Dexter is that he is a silver Savannah. This is a rarer color and means his spotting is black on a silver coat. Silver cats have a white/cream colored undercoat making them very attractive. It is not always easy to capture the beauty of a silver savannah in a photo.
Since Dexter is Californian AND an F2 savannah, he is mild mannered with a delicate character. He is asking for his ideal home to be a quiet, relaxing place with not too much activity and noise. His wish list would not include a dog or other cats. If you have a very quiet senior dog or possibly one laid back cat, we can talk about it. We realize that most people have other pets and that's why they are part of our Facebook groups, but in this case we would prefer a pet-free home. Maybe you can share this posting to some of your friends with no pets, or to those who have lost their pets over the years and now would be ready for a very interesting companion to fill up their home with activity. Dexter likes to follow his foster mom around and sleep with her. He also has a 'relationship' with a fish bowl and fish at his foster home. So if you have fish make sure the tank is secure !
Since Dexter is an F2 Savannah he is not receptive to a lot of change, and he feels his new owners should be accommodating slaves to his whims. He is sensitive and prefers to be the center of attention. Although he is gorgeous, he is also very special on the inside. He has never been exposed to children and although he may have been a great pet if he had met his own little people as a kitten, it would be really hard for him to understand a child now that he is an adult.
In return for thinking of him first, Dexter will repay you with the joy of living with a savannah with 25% serval blood and including the intelligence that goes with that family tree. It's amazing to watch him move around and investigate his surroundings. Dexter may not show a lot of affection, but he would really enjoy a nice outdoor catio or enclosure where he can be enjoyed from afar without having too much forced contact. It would also allow him to wear off some of his COVID chubbies. Come on---we all have them!
 Dexter is curious about his surroundings but slow to trust. You will need to be a special person to win the heart of this beauty !
Because of his delicate sensitivities he has gone outside of his litterbox to show his displeasure with other animals that made him nervous in his previous home. This is why we are asking to find the PERFECT home for this prince. No children and preferably no other pets (we can discuss maybe one older dog or a laid-back cat). Car transport for him will be OK for several hours, but he cannot be shipped on a plane. Dexter is neutered and is declawed on all four paws. He has no known health issues.

Leo is a beautiful, smart, friendly, sociable and very active and playful boy! He likes people of all ages (including children older than 8 years) and will cuddle on your lap or in bed.
Leo is seven years old and is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and is healthy. He has all his claws.
Leo is afraid of and stressed by a dog in his current home who chases him. This fear is the likely cause of Leo spraying on occasion. Leo has been thoroughly vet checked and was not found to have any physical issues that would be the reason for spraying.
Very often, once a pet is removed from stressors in a current home, unwanted behaviors are not seen again along with slow and proper introductions to the new home, people and other pets.
We may consider a home with one other active, playful and confident cat around Leo's age (3-8 years old). We require there are no dogs in the foster or adoptive home.
If adopted, Leo's adoption fee is $200. FYI: Our foster homes always retain first chance to adopt a rescue Savannah they are fostering for us.

Zazu is an 18 mo savannah male in need of a home because his owner is being transferred overseas and cannot take him. The breeder, Select Exotics did not answer the owner's request for help nor did they answer SV Rescue, so they will not be taking Zazu back. ?
Zazu has no behavioral issues - he is very playful, loves to fetch, will eat people food, gets up on counters, is very talkative and will need another cat or dog to interact with after a slow introduction.

Zazu is up to date on his vaccines with no health issues. Zazu will not be shipped, so please do not ask. The surrounding states are possible as far as traveling by car.

DA VINCI'S FOSTER ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DECIDED TO MAKE THIS PERMANENT!! Our hearts hurt for Da Vinci. Da Vinci is a 10 year old F3 neutered male that apparently came from Select Exotics with the eye missing (assumed from the price on the contract as Select Exotics has not responded to us). Da Vinci lived 10 happy years as an only pet when his owner died. The daughter took Da Vinci in, but after a few months when the existing cat and him were not getting along, he was taken to the shelter. He is not doing well in such an environment, it must be a huge shock to him.
We need an immediate foster able to pick Da Vinci up from the shelter in Norfolk, VA soon. We would prefer a home that would want to foster-to-adopt but we just need him out, so if you have a separate room for Da Vinci to destress in, that would be great. Any home that fostered him, if he worked out then adoption would be possible. Please email us at info@... if you can help...let us know if you wish to foster only or foster-to-adopt. Give us some basic information (your location, your household, details of the room available) so we can work out if this is an option for Da Vinci.

For Foster or Foster to Adopt Pretty F4 female savannah in Franklin Ohio
"Belle" is seeking a home in Franklin Ohio area ( or within reasonable driving distance) This sweet mom cat has been living feral and is afraid of almost everything at this point. She has been taken off the street to keep her safe but the foster cannot keep her. We estimate her to be about 2-3 years old and rumor has it that she is an F4 savannah. She is likely pregnant ! She will need a foster home that is willing to take her for veterinary care, raise her litter of upcoming kittens until they can be adopted, get her spayed and work on her regaining trust in people again. She currently has a litter of kittens that are not available for adoption yet and now already another litter on the way. She will need premium nutrition and a quiet safe place to have her babies. Savannah rescue pays for any vet fees incurred with our 'foster" cats. The ideal home will be quiet and stable with not a crazy amount of noise or activity. Young active children or a lot of other pets will not be ideal in this case. The ideal home would also be interested in adopting her once she is spayed. ( We do not adopt out unspayed cats) She will need a room or area that can be hers alone for at least a couple of weeks until she is feeling comfortable in her new place. He was sold to a pet store, that in turn, sold him to an owner in NYC, where he was illegal to own. The breeder has taken no responsibility for any of her actions, will not take him back and has not contributed in any way to his care.?

Cosmo was born with a soft cleft palate and knowingly sold to his past owner with this condition. She surrendered him to SV Rescue because she could not afford his vet bills nor the surgery to repair his palate.?

Cosmo has been in a foster home and is ready to be adopted! He had cleft palate surgery in February of this year, which SV Rescue paid for, and is doing fairly well. He has a residual issue of sneezing, which is much better when a humidifier is used. He will need a humidifier for life!?

Cosmo is a playful, loving savannah cat, who gets along with dogs and perhaps one other cat. The cats in his foster home don't care for his playful attitude, so a younger cat would likely be ok for him. He uses his Litterbox faithfully.

Cosmo will need a spare room to have time to acclimate to his new people and surroundings.

ADOPTED! We have an F2 male near Seattle, Washington, in urgent need of a foster! This guy has had a very rough life and needs a lot of patience, time, love and person experienced with F1 or F2 savannah experience.

He has had several homes through no fault of his own and was once sweet and trusting. Unfortunately, his breeder, Lequoioa Savannahs, cannot take him back, since he cannot be flown from WA to Mississippi. Lequioa Savannahs did not keep up with his numerous homes and had no idea he was abandoned more than once. He is very difficult to handle at this point because he is petrified. Annakin was dropped off by a person unable to communicate, to a rescue and is very unhappy at his situation.

He can be petted, but runs back into his crate the minute he is approached. He hisses at his current caregiver, but F2s often hiss as a means of communication.?

We just need to get him out of this rescue! He needs quiet and someone with the time and experience to allow him to trust again.

Foster must have a room where Annakin can just be - for an extended period of time. Perhaps one other cat, but we prefer no pets or children.

Bocephus is a 7 year old neutered, declawed (please no comments about the declawing) male F1 Savannah. His backstory is a little confusing. He was reportedly purchased at 2 years of age from the breeder who was located in Texas. He was already neutered and declawed. He is reported to have been strongly bonded to the adult son, so when the father moved out Bo stayed with the son.

Bo has a medium haired female cat friend in the house and they are said to get along great. However, the owner allows that cat to go in and out, while Bo has been indoor only. The owner reports that Bo has been peeing on the couch and bed. While we have spent a couple weeks offering advice, I am not certain that enough has been really done and the behavior has frustrated the owner to the point of surrender. I suspect the owner is working long enough hours that the amount of time required to clean effectively and work on the issue seems insurmountable to him. I believe that the issues are most likely resolvable with some changes. I also wonder if a vet visit might clear up any potential paw pain issues.

Bocephus is reported to be very sociable, playful and loving to family, friendly to visitors although initially shy. He's said to be good with older children, probably ones that are good playing with cat toys! He is said to have batted around small dogs, so we would not suggest that. Currently he lives with a spayed female cat so we think that could work. I would not suggest introducing Bo to an large cat household. He definitely would need a separate space with the ability to introduce slowly and thoughtfully. A catio or enclosure might be an added bonus!

We would want a new home to be able to convince us that they understand the challenges of a rehomed adult F1 Savannah. They don't just look cool. This is non-negotiable. If nothing else, please explain your commitment to what you perceive is required to live with an F1 Savannah. We also wish to hear how you would address his peeing issues, we cannot discern if it is an anxiety or a territorial marking issue or a pain issue from his paws.

 Thor is located in the Dallas, Texas area and must go to a home outside of Dallas to an area where Savannahs are allowed to be owned (with a permit as required by the state of Texas)...or to another state with his new home willing to drive.
Thor is 9 years young. He's neutered, healthy, microchipped and has no litter box or dietary issues. He's an F7. We don't know how much he weighs or how tall he is.
Thor is in need of a home that can give him lots of attention, playtime and love. He's shy initially with new people, but warms up quickly.
Thor is very affectionate and will snuggle and sleep with his humans all night long. He's a kitty who loves to lie in your lap while you watch TV. He's very playful, energetic, likes to jump and climb and would benefit from an outdoor, cat-escape-proof enclosure or catio. A new home must be aware Thor may try to run out an open door given the opportunity. Thor is also a talker
Like many cats of all ages, breeds and mixes, Thor does best with routine and stability. He does not like to be left alone for long periods of time. He's worn a harness and leash in the past for time outside.
Thor has never lived with other cats or dogs. We 'may' consider a home with another energetic cat or older kitten as a buddy for Thor, or possibly a home with a laid-back and cat-friendly dog. In either case, long, slow and proper introductions to Thor's new home, people and another pet must be followed for best results.
Thor should be fine with a teen or child older than 10 years of age who is respectful of a cat's personality requirements.

Chaneeka is a gorgeous 10 year old spayed F1 female who needs a very patient and understanding home. Above all, she needs someone to commit to her for years no matter what.

Chaneeka was bred by the now-defunct Savannahcatland (who have said that they are not in a position to take her back) in IN, and for 8 years was kept as first breeding cat then pet by Lequoia Savannahs in MS. She was then sold as pet to her current owner in Los Angeles, CA. He reports that after two years Chaneeka still hasn't come around and he has given up on that and wishes to rehome her. Lequoia Savannahs is not taking her back either, so it is up to Savannah Cat Rescue to find her a new home.

It's important that a new home understand that an older adult F1 is a long term project in many cases. It's important that the new home understands the significant behavioral differences between an F1 and other generations of Savannahs. It can indeed take years for an F1 to decide you are their human.

Chaneeka does play with a wand toy, she is faithful with her litterbox and is not reported to be destructive. She has not been to a vet in the past 2 years but appears healthy to the owner. Lequoia Savannahs reported that she was social (a little dominant) with other cats and tolerant of her dog. We would not suggest Chaneeka for a home with a lot of other cats, she might be good with a tolerant male cat, and with an ability to manage a very slow understanding introductory process. She has never been around children and would not be good in a home with anything but older children (12 year old+). Lequoia believes she needs a home with a woman and that lays at the crux of the issue, the current owner is a male and she had lived her life with a single woman before then.

If you think that you are ready for the commitment of this special cat, and your home fits the criteria, please email info@... with your location and a description of your home and why it would be great for Chaneeka. Shipping would be impossible as the owner can barely manage to get her into a crate and cannot get to a vet for the necessary health certificate. She also is not a candidate to use a pet transporter who flies the cat in cabin, nor if you were willing to fly to bring back in cabin. She needs someone to be able to drive to pick her up.
