Hi I was testing a new HT and antenna set up on SHARI and I wanted to see how well it worked. I tried to connect my node to 55553 as recommended in the SHARI instructions to test the sound quality and as soon as the last DTMF tone is sent and the PTT is released I get the hung high pitch sound that will not stop until I unplug the SHARI and plug it in again. This seems to repeat every time. I noticed when I connect to the echolink parrot server I do not get the high pitch and everything works just fine. It's just the 55553 one that does that. I don't know if it's the server having problems or either my radio or HT. Has anyone encountered this?

I have my shari node at home and would like to take it to work so while I'm at work for 10 hours a day I could get a chance to use it, right now it sits at home not even turned on, my question is how do I add the work wifi info, I want it to be additional to my home info so it will still work there. I can't even remember how to access the Shari

I am trying to program the frequency on a SHARI pihat. It’s a pi4 I loaded ASL3 Tried without and then added the console=serial0,115200 to the end of cmdline.txt Verified bt was disabled in config.txt When the sa818 script runs I get Connection error only on the radio function. It appears to work fine for the volume and filter functions. I have built 10 of these so far but this one wants to fight me. -Michael N5ZR

I have 2 nodes that were running hamvoip. I downloaded a fresh asl3 image and went through the config. Everything looks good, but the node does not key up. I tried my other node, same thing. Not sure what im missing. confirmed the simpleusb settings, node registered and showing on asl page, the serial dev to /dev/ttyUSB0 etc... No luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought I would try ASL 3 and I like the interface. I was able to program the SHARI, but it will only transmit, it doesn't receive. I looked in simpleUSB and there is nothing there when I transmit, its simply not hearing me. It works great with Hamvoip so I'm assuming there is something up with ASL3, has anyone else seen this issue?

Hi all, I am getting many "connection failed" when attempting to connect to different reflectors, but not always, and I don't see much of a pattern. I'm unable to connect to the East Coast reflector at all. Any ideas, 73 Steve KL7SB

I'm not sure this is an appropriate issue for this group, but I have to start somewhere.... redirect prod's are welcome. I've got a SHARI node which has been stellar for the past year. I like to experiment and ended up messing up the Hamvoip software a few months back so I plunged ahead with an ASL3 update. That has been a satisfying experience and with one exception, has been very successful. The exception: Since making the change to ASL3, I cannot successfully connect to talk group #48579. Every attempt results in a Connection Failed message. I communicated with the node owner and he could find nothing on his end wrong on his end and reported his linked repeater system is working like a champ. I have not tried reinstalling Hamvoip to see if that would correct the situation, bad me. So I am wondering how to go about troubleshooting the problem. Where to look for log entries or what not. I have no idea why the connection fails repeatedly. BTW, I don't really explore the ASL Node Network extensively, but I have zero connection issues with any of my other dozen or so favorite nodes. Just #48579. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks MJ, WO9B

My friend with a SHARI Allstar can connect to a "group" Node and we can talk through that node, but he cannot connect directly to my SHARI node at home. I also cannot connect to his SHARI node at his home for a direct one-to-one QSO. He uses a Verizon WIFI system where he has no control over which ports he can OPEN. Anything that we can try differently or fix? Glen-WB4KTF

I purchased the Pi5 kit from kitsforhams.com and have it assembled. I have installed and setup ASL3 but i cannot get the node to work. I am getting error messages when applying the settings to the SA818 chip. Is there a write up detailing the settings specifically for the Pi5 Shari hat?
