Re: Intermittent serial port connectivity to SA818 on a Pi 5 #Allstar_Setup #SA818-prog
Hi, I found two different pieces of information about the correct setup serial port for SA818 on RPI 5 for ASL3 when we use PiHat board

Re: Shari PiZero temperature
I have my PiZero2w in my office near the heat vent (window) for better reception and less noise. I also use a rubber ducky antenna from an old HT. Room temperature ranges from 72 to 78 degrees.? The

Re: Shari PiZero temperature
RPi foundation engineers say the board is good to 80 degrees Celsius, why are we getting upset about 60 or 65 degree temperatures? if a heatsink gets hot, that means it is needed to disipate heat, not

I¡¯m a former hardware reverse engineer married to a computer engineer. Unless you are seeing glitches or problems, those temperatures are totally fine for the pi zero. It may not be comfortable to

Update: Have been running Node continuously in Tx in its case. Ambient Temp 31C. Node reached and maintaind 65C. I am going to put some holes in the case to assist with heat dissipation. 73 Mike

Re: Shari PiZero temperature
Hi Ed, thanks for that info. I agree that some ventilation in the Alloy (supplied) case is a must when being operated in ambient temps of 30C or more. There maybe a need to run up a 3D printed case

Re: Shari PiZero temperature
I was having random, intermittent keying issues which I think was caused by excessive heat. Used a dremal to cut some slots in sides of the case and added a few heat sinks with thermal tape on top.

then that sounds like you pi zero is under powered for what it is processing and not enough cooling. to me your are better off with a Pi3B or 3B+ [email protected]> wrote:

Hi Brad, 50C is the average temp with NO Node traffic. Once the Node is transmitting then the temp is going higher. 73 Mike

Hmmm, 30¡æ is a little toasty. I don't know how that relates to the case's cooling ability and there's also the radio's duty cycle to consider, but I would expect the Pi to start throttling CPU if it

you should run ASL3 on a Pi3B or 3B+ hamvoip will run fine on the 02W. if the case is aluminum and has the standoffs for heatsink in it then it should allow the 02w to run cooler. Which case do you
