That is interesting Brad. I did not know that would work. I am able to log into my supermon remotely but the connected node list says waiting. Any idea why that would be?

Problem I found was with WIFI wireless connection using a hot spot caused disconnects. Once I did ethernet connect rj45 to raspberry pi all drop out disappeared. Plus hotspot does not allow for dual external 4g roof mount external antennas which make all the difference.?
So my plan is to get a VHF version to take mobile.? ?I will resurrect a nighthawk MR1100 hotspot that I have with a Ting mobile sim card.?It is a good device.? I will be able to have a ethernet connection.?
I had my Shari PiHatU working. I went to set up a WIFI connection and now I have no green light. When I go in to test he audio settings it tells me Device USB Currently Not Active. What have I done and how do I fix it?

I suggested DINAH on Tuesday, it's apparently not the clean, cable-free solution Daz was hoping for.
He wants to a replacement module for the SA818 that covers 4/6m bands.
Nice-RF, the makers of the SA818 module, has a selection of products like their SA818 device, but none comes close to covering the desired 4/6m bands.

That's a 12 year old product announcement for a device designed to cover 800 MHz to 2.7 GHz, that is no where near 4/6m, and as I read the description, it's for a receiver, not a transceiver.
We’re already using a mixture of URI’s, CM108’s, modified USB Sound cards with Baofengs, Wouxuns, Motorola’s and others and we’re trying to move away from all that. The appeal of the Shari, having the onboard RF from the SA818 is that it takes away all that complexity, cabling, power supplies and cost and standardises the equipment for all users.
?
It’s an all in one Asterisk solution, like the Shari I’m looking for, but 4m/6m instead of 2m/70cm. I’m quite happy to modify a Shari if I can find a replacement for the SA818, hence my question to the group.
?
Hopefully that clarifies the question and keeps us on topic, any ideas anyone? ?

Check your radio manual, there should be keys that map to the letters, the manual should explain how.
For example, on a Baofeng U-verse-5r, the top row of keys (menu, up arrow, down arrow, and exit) map to the letters A, B, C, and D - but maybe not in that order.

Ken lots of people do, they work great,? make sure you setup *b1 to shut down your node from your radio when you want to do a shutdown, also if you want the node to stay connected to some node make sure you use the *73 And the node number so that you stay
connected just in case you loose cell data once in a while.

Hi kennet I take my node always Mobil by using cell phone battery power bank because using the cigarette lighter is getting my alternator noise I run my about 24 hours before needs to be recharge thanks 73
About a year and a half ago I took it to a hamfest in Joplin Missouri. Operated off my cellphone hot spot and? a cellphone type battery bank.? I participated in a Saturday morning net and kept in contact with Wichita Kansas locals via the club repeater.. THe only problem I had was some no cell service spots in rural kansas in the Flint hills where the population is 1 person per square mile.
