front and rear springs 5
4 new springs came with my S1, and I need a bit of help sorting the fronts from the rears. The previous owner bought most parts from SJ, so I'm guessing these were sourced there. One of them is still in the packaging, and has a part number of SP4403 on it. Any clues?

Citroen Gearbox 9
Hi all, This question is from a mate. ( Myself ,I do own an S2.2 Esprit myself and pulled engine and gearbox multiple times in the past , long time ago) Are all Citroen type gearboxes (S1,S2,S2.2,S3, Turbo Esprit, Esprit turbo.... interchangeable ? S1,S2,S2.2 have inboard discsbrakes....Later on brakes moved outwards., but are the gearboxes themselves adaptable? Differences in bellhousing? Or maybe, the gearbox is the same and different bellhousings in different models can be mounted ? Any information really, because he is on the search for a replacement gearbox.

Gasket Removal Method 3
I am in the process of cleaning up an engine block before starting a build, finding it difficult to remove the paper gaskets for both oil pressure adapter and auxiliary housings. I've soaked them in a mix of acetone/ATF/srong solvent and hit them later with a heat gun then a torch. Very tenacious buggers they are when trying to scrape off using an acrylic ice scraper. Razor blade next?

JPS S2 as part of famous junkyard auction 7
I came across a fire-damaged (I am guessing) JPS S2 on the auction site for the notorious Los Angeles-based Porche Foreign Auto Wrecking junkyard auction that is coming up: https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/jy24/lots/r0022-1979-lotus-espirit/ If you haven't heard about this junkyard before, you can find more details on many YouTube videos or places like Car and Driver: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a61938041/junkyard-rudi-klein-rm-auction/ Interesting story. I wonder if there is anything salvageable on the JPS.

S1 Brake Master Cylinder? 7
I just posted this to the FB S1 group, but I figured I'd send it out here too. My S1 needs a brake master cylinder. The shop I have it at tried to rebuild it, but they said it was too far gone. They have one on order from Lotus Bits, but it's taking an eternity for it to get shipped here to Upstate NY. Ordinarily I would sit tight and wait, but I leave for Florida on 10/27 and I need to get it safely stowed away for the winter. Does anyone have any alternatives out there? I need a miracle...

Pulling engine and trans 8
Hi all, I am thinking that I will pull my engine and transmission on my S2 for some of the upcoming work on it and to inspect the fuel tanks. For those who have done this job: how difficult is? Any things to keep in mind or tips/tricks that may make it easier?

Considering selling my collection
Hello fellow Lotus enthusiast, Many of you know me or remember me and it has been quite a few years since I have truly been active. I just recently retired on my 65th birthday and due to my leg injury of many years back have not been active or spending a lot of time pursuing my love of Lotus cars. I no longer have the time or inclination to devote myself to my collection and am in the process of selling many of them. I thought it might be a good opportunity for any of those folks attending LOG to have a chance if they might be interested in looking them over. I am located in Houston or more precisely Cypress Texas and am only a couple of hours from Austin. I have journeyed to many a previous LOG with most of them and many were winners. Here is a list of my full collection: 1973 Lotus Europa TCS (Green/Black) 1974 Lotus Elite 503 (Red/Black) 1977 Lotus Esprit S1 (White/Tartan) 1987 Lotus Esprit HCI (White/Black) 1991 Lotus Elan M100 (Red/Grey) 2002 Lotus Esprit V8 (Silver/Black) and the one from another mother- 1990 Maserati 228 Biturbo (Black/Cream) I will likely not depart with my first love and first acquisition, my TCS. However, I am open about the others. They have been stored in a storage/garage/workshop and also in my home garage. They each have various needs, some minor, some more major. I will detail that later to interested parties and also I am in the process of getting some photos. I know everyone like to see the pics, however I have been a bit under the weather but wanted to get this out with the near vicinity of LOG being the case. Thank you for your interest and love of these incredible cars. Cheers, Rogers Schupp

Fuel pump 13
Hey all, my car a 78 series 2 has been running finally. Was out driving and after being in the road about 15 minutes suddenly the car starts bucking, and my rpms go nuts. Car dies with a pop and the fuel pump won't prime. Had to get towed. The next day, she cranked, pump did it's thing and she fired right up. Went for a drive around the block after letting it idle 10 mins then same thing, engine starts jerking due to no fuel and it pops then dies. Fuel pump then won't prime or do it's thing. Everything on my car is new minus the pump tbh. So I understand the su pump in the car runs off points and has a req of about 15 gph. Has anyone updated their pump with one of the newer solid state ones so makes? I see moss has them in stock but I will want to call to make sure I can find one that meets the 907s specifications. Has anyone ever updated those fuel pump?

Autosparks Harness replacement 2
Hi all, Does anyone have experience with Autosparks harnesses? From what I can find online, the quality seems good and they appear to be a supplier for a lot of other harness sellers in the British classic car world. I wanted to check with the folks here to see if anyone had personal experience with them as a replacement harness for a vehicle. How "apart" does the car need to be for a harness replacement? Thanks! For Sale.? White Lotus Esprit S1 207H Project. 770 03 0207H.
For Sale. White Lotus Esprit S1 207H Project. This is a very original Esprit, white with original tartan interior, that has not been on the road since 1980, it has been under cover since then, with an original 24,031 miles on the clock. When collected the left wheel wobbled when the car was pushed. The cause of the car being left off the road appears to be a broken rear right wheel bearing. Bought as a rolling barn find, I took the body off the chassis at the end of last year (following Bill Galbraith’s process) to reveal that the chassis is in almost perfect condition, light rust only, as seen in the images. Soon after the car arrived, I attached a battery and checked that all the electrics were working which they are save for the head lamp lift motor and reverse lights, as seen in a video I have. The chassis is complete with engine and gearbox in place, radiator, fuel lines and coolant lines all untouched. Project needs a new home as we are selling up and moving back to the UK very soon. Some of you may have noticed that my red Lotus 228H has recently sold on BAT. All smaller parts from the car are labeled in ziplock bags and are boxed, included are several Esprit manuals, parts manual, folders, new suspension parts front and rear and a 907 Healey engine. The body (ready for spraying0 and chassis are currently separated but can be reattached. Car had MA title I have recently applied for a NY title and have a receipt for the application. Asking - $12,000 of BO History Signed off production line 26th March 1977. Invoiced to Lotus East, Millertown, NY. 6th out of 39 White cars sold in Lotus East. 770 03 0207H. White in the body color, S01. This car is the last serial number made pin white in gel body. Eng - AC7 7703 13563. Gearbox - 0271. Manufactured - 26th March, 1977 Sold - Lotus East, Millerton, NY. 9/8/79 - Boston parking ticket found under drivers seat. 01 - code = parking within 10 feet of fire hydrant. Light rubbing compound. 11/1/20 - Cleaned fuses. 11/2/20 - Fitted battery to test electrics — All lights worked (interior, dash rheostat, indicators, sidelights, dip/full beams), fans worked, windows worked. Harness improvements 7
So I have been working on getting the S2 roadworthy again and wanted to bring back up the subject of harnesses. The more I dig deeper into this car, the less confidence I have about the wiring decisions of previous owners. The car drove fine when I put it in storage but I have never been this deep into the underpinnings of the car. There are frayed wires, random open wires throughout the engine bay, poor quality connections and wiring work, and general untidiness to the whole harness. All of which scares me quite a lot. I am swapping out the old MSD setup, removing the 1990s alarm system, and cleaning things up generally, so I wanted to hear what the experts here had to say about the following: If you were to undertake a full harness refresh on an early Esprit, what would you consider the gold standard in updates to the wiring? Pretend this is a thought experiment in what should be done. I already have stuff to put in relays for the windows, new Spal fans, and headlights, but want to hear what you have done or would do. A modern fusebox like the ones they put in hotrods? Anything specific?
