Re: Inner Tie Rod Ends
?I¡¯ve been told by Jay at JAE probably in the last year or so that they had both rebuild kits as well as new units ($500 or so, basically a wash compared to SJ). They might be a good stateside

Re: Inner Tie Rod Ends
Yeah, the nightmares are coming back to me. One of the big problems sometimes is getting that U-joint off, so soak it in penetrating fluid a couple days before you start if you can. The best

The UK community have identified the firm Kiley-Clinton as known for refurbishment of our racks. FWIW, link attached. https://kileyclinton.com/ Cheers Steve

A couple of more points.? As Bill mentioned it is a bit of a challenge to align the bolts with the nut plates on reassembly especially if you have new rubber clamp bushes. To make reassembly much

Re: Inner Tie Rod Ends
I rebuilt mine last year.? Be sure to get the shims back in same place and mark position of rack on the mounting structure as I recall there is some up and down adjustment. The really stupid thing I

Yeah, it¡¯s a real fun job to get that rack out, and back in¡ NOT. I¡¯ve attached several pictures that I have, but did not generate. I probably got them out of the Files section, and my first

Re: Inner Tie Rod Ends
The inner tie rod ends are actually part of the steering rack. the Lotus specialists do you have rebuild kits available but it¡¯s not as simple as just putting on a new tie rod end. Dave C

Inner Tie Rod Ends
After years of fun, trouble free driving in my 1977 S1 Esprit, I have my first real issue. The passenger side inner tie rod end has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Anyone know what car this part

Re: S1 tire choices
I have Hankook Kinergy ST 195/60 14 in front and 205/70 in rear on my S1. They are a good all around tire. They are H rated so technically good to 130 mph. I did track on them twice and seemed fine.

Re: S1 tire choices
For tire sizes with current listings in the right sizes, are they performance tires, grocery-getter tires, all-season tires... what are they? I'v had some "general purpous" tires on the book-spec size

Re: S1 tire choices
For the record, I have attached a pic of the glove box tag that lists the official recommended tire size.? I did a quick search at Discount Tire and they did not have the 206/60R14.? They do have

Using General Altimax RT43, 195/60 14 front, 205/70 14 rear. Could not find any make/model that had both 205/60 14 and 205/70 14.? Had an older set of barely used Federal tires that matched factory

MarkM, I don't know what to tell you. I've not purchased new tires for my Esprit S2 or ?clat in the last few years (Covid +), and of late many of the smaller diameter performance tires have

S1 tire choices
Can you tell me which tires you are using on your S1s and what you think of them? I need to get tires and expect to use the car as a driver with only an occasional track day. Thanks, Mark

Mark I just put new fuse boxes in my S2 and used North American 20 amp fuses. Murray Graham

Re: Fuse values
Mark, British (Lucas) and American (Buss) fuse ratings are NOT the same. The Lucas 35 amp fuse is roughly equivalent to a Buss 17 amp fuse. DO NOT put an American Buss 35 amp fuse in... that would be
