I've been noticing a few things that I don't much use for...your treasures I hope! Two PRS boxcar kits. These are the 1937 boxcars that I bought very early in production. I built & painted several. The detail trees didn't stay with other parts during the painting process; so what I'm selling are two complete kits less trucks and couplers with the detail parts as the kit would contain. I'll make sure each box contains all the needed parts--maybe a few extras? $40.00 Then I have a Corgi firetruck, 2 urethane lumber loads (fit the Railmaster and Hartoy trucks nicely), a flatcar load of stacked pipe (the load fits the SSA Peek-a-boo open gondola), 4 vintage farm tractors (two John Deere and two Int Harvestor/Farmal, a metal flatbed trailer(paired with a Mack tractor). Then I have a challenge--here is the brass floor meant for an Overland E unit. I'm running late on all this, as my physical spills, a updated cell and TV has resulted in a tired guy trying to crawl back into the swing of things. Also I'm reading a couple of new items for the BBB to offer to those needing a little bling! The shot here is three cement trucks that are owned by my Readi Mix industry. The two Internationals were printed in the Kaw Valley factory in the Kansas City area. One was a test shot that I reported on a few years back. The one with the white cab is an updated another IH version of a much more recent production. Another is a Leigh Valley kit with a Hartoy chassis I built this many years ago when the Hartoy cabs became more available for modifications. Not being that knowlegeable on the differences between models, I'll leave it to you guys! Bob Werre

After Shapeways has passed away it seems I have to install my kadee couplers the regular way for the time being. The model was designed in a time when there was only Kadee #5 available. For free movement of the trucks I'd prefer to use the small SHS couplers. Having no coupler gauge here in Germany I ask myself if the coupler height will be correct or if I need an additional shim. Has someone done the conversion on the Trainmaster recently and remembers how it went? It IS a beautiful Diesel and deserves to come with scale couplers. So I got a Gondola from a friend for $20 that wasn’t in its original box. Neither of us could figure out who made it at first. After I did some digging around the internet I found it was made by REX or some of you know them by Putt Trains. The gon is fairly well detailed for its time. Here are some pictures. There have always been modelers asking what to use for stripping paint from plastic models. I have tried so many techniques using everything from brake fluid to Scalecoat stripper. I have been successful over the years using products such as Simple Green, Goof Off and Isopropyl alcohol but everything is just a crap shoot hopping it will work. Awhile back I took on a plastic diesel job. Not to my liking but I wanted to help out a friend. He has two of the same locos that he wants painted and lettered. The issue is one was painted by some other painter that he tried and put the wrong colors on the loco. The other is still in its factory paint scheme. I needed to strip both of them and start over. I tried all the usual stripping products and nothing touched either model. The 91% alcohol did soften and make sticky but really needed to soak forever and scrub very hard to the point of damaging the model shell. I went to a hobby shop that is not really trains but cators to the plastic model guys and all the other stuff that is needed to keep them in business. They sold me a bottle of paint stripper for plastic, and I bought it with hesitation. It is called AK 185. I read the reviews and everyone said it was nothing more than alcohol. They are wrong. This stuff really works. I keep 91% in a spray bottle and started with it first. Again, it would not touch what ever that first model was painted with or its decals. I tried a small spot inside the shell, and it darn near wiped the factory color off in one wipe. I used it on the aftermarket paint and with a toothbrush I was able to get all the way down to the factory shell with not much work or worry. I then tried it on the next shell with just a factory paint job, and it removed all the lettering and color down to the shell by wiping it with a paper towel. Just recently I used brake fluid on one of my own PRS box cars I painted over 20 years ago and destroyed it. Run fast, Run hard from using brake fluid. I wish I knew about this stuff then. Hello all, I had been looking for buckeye trucks for a DODX flatcar project and some other heavy duty flatcars that I would like to do. While searching I found a gentleman on eBay who was 3D printing them in HO scale. I asked him if he would be willing to scale his trucks up to 1/64 and he agreed to take on the project. I sent him measurements of a regular American Models truck to help him scale up his design. The first set I got from him where a little wide by 2.2 mm. He reprinted them for no extra charge. He is a great communicator with great customer service skills. Included are some photos of the trucks that I received from him. I put some spare scale S scale America wheels sets that I have. They roll really smoothly. It looks like they are printed using resin. This is an example of oil canning – the waviness of the steel sides due to welding. That would be very difficult to model. After completing this River raisin brass hoppers. I wanted to put removable coal loads in them. So I reached out to Dennis Brennan and Purchased his number two broken anthracite coal. This stuff is pretty nice. I bought a group of abused cars I probably should not have. 1 of the best shape cars was a American Models Railbox that was missing a door. I did not have a list of parts I wanted to get from AM but that would have been easiest…. So 5 hours of Solidworks and 4 prints later I got the door I wanted only to make sure it is facing the inside of the layout anyway. That was easy! Just thought I would ask this group if anyone knows what might work the best for rail joiners, since Fox Valley are Sold Out at this time. I'm looking for Rail Joiners for S-Helper / MTH code 138 Flex Track that will be used with Fox Valley Switches. I was looking on eBay and found 3 different rail joiners that might work. I want the Silver unpainted ones so I can solder wires to them if needed. [1] Peco PL-10 said they fit HO / O scale code 100 Track, [2] Guy in Florida goes by antbocc_50 has O Scale rail joiners for code 125 & 148 track, [3] Micro Engineering 26-100 rail joiners.
