Re: NYE
there is no way to leave a message that others can see if they were not there when you left it. Another thing to consider... make a plan to be on the computer at a certain time, and publish it... Like i am saying, I will be in the zoom meeting from 7pm to 10 pm EST. You can just give a little time, like, 7 to 715 pst, and hope that folks stop in to say hi. What happens if you come and just leave, you don't see anyone unless someone is already?there. And if you think of?it... what is the chance that two people will log on at exactly?the same 2minutes of time? LOL. Ya gotta stay on for a bit. I tend to turn it on, then go read email or look at FB or whatever other computer thing, and let the zoom run on the side (so i can see shy people when they come on) On Sat, Dec 28, 2024 at 11:49?AM Russell Courtenay via <walruswebtech=[email protected]> wrote:

NYE
Hello!!! I will be running a zoom for New Years Eve. To get all the time zones, it could start... well, what would be a good time for our Australian friends?? the thing is... no WAY can *I* sit all day on the computer, and if i start it up, it shuts down in 40 minutes if not active. The trick is for folks to come on and message a few people you know and invite them in. If everyone just 'checks in' and leaves if no one is there, you most likely won't see anyone at all. I certainly do NOT want to take you away from family and friends, but MANY of us are not involved, for whatever reason, and this gives the opportunity to chat for a bit with other Rusties, at least. AND... play music (if you want to know how to sound good, ask and i will either show you, tell you, or find someone who knows your operating system to help) Hope to see some of you December 31st!!! Holidays on Zoom!
Happy Holidays!! As some of you may know, I host a zoom, mostly Rusties, on Tuesdays evenings. Because tonight is Christmas Eve, people are quite busy, so I have decided to move it to Wednesday. Also, look for an invite next week for NYE, unless I make another plan... and in January, I will start showing the blurays from Vol III on Sunday afternoons my time. Anyway, here is the invite for tomorrow: After a lot of consideration, and the fact that only one person i asked would 'stop by' tonight for zoom, i decided to move it to Christmas Evening... dec 25th... wednesday... tomorrow evening at 7pm est. i will keep the computer on, but i will likely be reading on the couch in the living room, so when you come on, call for me and i will come to the computer!!! Re: New NYA timeline concert (of the holidays): 2014-07-10 - & Crazy Horse - The Docklands, Cork, Ireland
I couldn't attend this tour as had booked a holiday in Spain. I've listened to this recording and find it dull and uninspiring. The female vocal arrangements really grate, and for me have no place in Crazy Horse. Neil amusingly plays God Save the Queen at the end of Rockin' in the Free World, which can't have gone down well in Ireland!?
?
Overall I'd say this is a very odd release and by far the worst Timeline recording to date.?
?
Lets have something from the 1995 Mirror Ball tour with Pearl Jam next please.?

Re: Winter Solstice
Salutations All: Out of lurkdom for this one. It's interesting to see how everyone responds to Winter Solstice as the fulcrum for longer days. Here's an appreciation for Winter Solstice as it is-not our projections: The stars and moon are brilliant. The crisp in the air is both an invitation to linger as well as a quiet admonition to gently pick the pace up- don't spend too much time out here, folks get hurt if they're not careful! There's a hush. The closeness of the clouds and, if you're really lucky, the snow on conifers absorbs and distorts the directionality of sound. Enjoy your thoughts. Again, if you're lucky, it's Cold. Everyone's hunkered down, reliving their Warm Weather Highlights. Reduce to the essentials. What, really, do we need to survive? Ok then. Keep that going, negotiate the rest. It's Dark early. Time to ponder. Contemplate. See #1 on this list. Take a deep breath. Step back. Appreciate the fact that, on Your Very Best Day, and Very Worst, you/we aren't even the Undigested Bit of Potato on a Universal scale. Revel in your Smallness! Things I Think I've Learned. Chris |

Thanks, Trish!!? I'm embracing the idea of the "longest night", remembering Johnny, looking forward to longer sunlight, more time with rusties and more music from Neil in the coming new year. HOWLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!! Deb Rewriting the Rules
