Salutations All:
Out of lurkdom for this one.
It's interesting to see how everyone responds to Winter Solstice as the fulcrum for longer days.
Here's an appreciation for Winter Solstice as it is-not our projections:
The stars and moon are brilliant.
The crisp in the air is both an invitation to linger as well as a quiet admonition to gently pick the pace up- don't spend too much time out here, folks get hurt if they're not careful!
There's a hush. The closeness of the clouds and, if you're really lucky, the snow on conifers absorbs and distorts the directionality of sound. Enjoy your thoughts.
Again, if you're lucky, it's Cold. Everyone's hunkered down, reliving their Warm Weather Highlights. Reduce to the essentials. What, really, do we need to survive? Ok then. Keep that going, negotiate the rest.
It's Dark early. Time to ponder. Contemplate. See #1 on this list. Take a deep breath. Step back. Appreciate the fact that, on Your Very Best Day, and Very Worst, you/we aren't even the Undigested Bit of Potato on a Universal scale. Revel in your Smallness!
Things I Think I've Learned.
